  • Patent number: 4502146
Abstract: A means for adjusting an electrical value within inaccessible electrical circuitry is disclosed including a proximity stimulus means acting upon and within the vicinity of a proximity stimulus response means to produce a response which is converted into an electrical signal by a transducing means. The number of electrical signals produced are accumulated and placed into the appropriate electronic form to adjust the electrical value. The magnitude of the adjustable electrical value and its adjustment may be monitored on an optional monitoring means.

  • Patent number: 4489956
Abstract: A heelholder for a safety ski binding which is manually adjustable from an open condition to a closed condition, including a soleholder, a first locking member biased in a forward direction, an actuating member mounted on the soleholder for engaging the first locking member to releasably hold the soleholder in the closed position, a second locking member for releasably locking the adjusting member in engagement with the first locking member when the soleholder is in the closed position, a manual release mechanism, and an interposed member located between the manual release mechanism and the second locking member for enabling movement of the soleholder from the open condition to closed condition and the locking by the second locking member of the adjusting member in engagement with the first locking member upon actuation of the manual release mechanism during movement of the soleholder from the open to the closed condition.

  • Patent number: 4490172
Abstract: Our invention is an improved process for removing gases and elements from a melt of molten ferrous metal; the process includes bubbling carbon dioxide through the melt, flushing the carbon dioxide from the melt with an inert gas and deoxidizing the melt with a metal chosen from the group of aluminum, magnesium, barium, calcium, zirconium or titanium.

  • Patent number: 4485536
Abstract: A heel grip for a rotary ski binding having a lever pivotally mounted on a rotary plate for rotation between skiing and braking positions, a pair of brake wings mounted on the lever to move with the lever between skiing and braking positions and being rotatable on the lever between positions inboard and outboard of the ski, and a spring wire connecting member having an intermediate portion connected to a pedal and free end portions connected to the brake wings, the pedal engaging the connecting member between its intermediate and free end portions to deform the connecting member and rotate the wings to their inboard position as the pedal is moved to its skiing position and the latter action being reversed to move the wings to their outboard position as the pedal is moved out of the skiing position.

  • Patent number: 4458669
Abstract: A building heat collection, storage and exchange system adapted for use with a solar collector, and featuring a specially designed heat storage tank. The closed system contains both liquid and gas, and is provided with drain reservoirs so that when heat is not being absorbed, the solar collector is drained, and the gas replaces the liquid in the collector. By the use of liquid intake and dispersal devices which eliminate turbulence, the heat storage tank maintains stable temperature zones. The most efficient extraction of stored heat is thus promoted.
