  • Patent number: 8240833
Abstract: A liquid ejecting head includes: a first supply member and a second supply member, each of which has a liquid supply passage formed therein; a filter that is held between the first supply member and the second supply member in correspondence with the liquid supply passage; a thermally welded portion that is welded to the filter so that the first supply member melts and soaks into the filter in a region that surrounds the liquid supply passage; a bonded portion at which the second supply member is bonded to the filter by the thermally welded portion; and a bonding resin that is formed by being poured into an outer region between the first supply member and the second supply member and outside the thermally welded portion and bonded portion with respect to the liquid supply passage.

  • Patent number: 8161113
Abstract: Managing a web based conference. The web based conference includes one or more presenters connected through a network to one or more conference attendees. The presenters control data sent to the attendees. User input is received at a presenter computing system from a presenter indicating that a message should be sent to a number of computing systems being used by attendees. In response to receiving the user input at the presenter computing system, a message is sent to the of computing systems. One or more acknowledgment messages are received from at least a portion of the plurality of computing systems. Based on the one or more acknowledgement messages, a metric is generated for the number of recipients that received the message. The metric is displayed to the presenter.

  • Patent number: 7066765
Abstract: An EMI shielding mechanism for use with an electronic module, such as an opto-electronic transceiver module, is disclosed. The EMI shielding mechanism includes a plurality of shielding tabs disposed on an outside face of the module. When the module is fully disposed in a port of a host device, the shielding tabs contact an edge of the port, thus reducing the amount of EMI radiation emitted form that edge. The shielding tabs are angled so that when the module is fully disposed in the port, a portion of the shielding tabs is inside the port and a portion is outside of the port. The angled shielding tabs provide a spring force which assists a user to extract the module from the port.

  • Patent number: 6922426
Abstract: Quantum wells and associated barriers layers can be grown to include nitrogen (N), aluminum (Al), antimony (Sb), phosphorous (P) and/or indium (In) placed within or about a typical GaAs substrate to achieve long wavelength VCSEL performance, e.g., within the 1260 to 1650 nm range. In accordance with features of the present invention, a vertical cavity surface emitting laser is described that includes at least one quantum well comprised of InGaAs; GaAsN barrier layers sandwiching said at least one quantum well; and GaAsN confinement layers sandwiching said barrier layers. GaAsN barrier layers sandwiching the quantum well and AlGaAs confinement layers sandwiching the barrier layers can also be provided with a InGaAs quantum well. AlGaAs barrier layers sandwiching the at least one quantum well and GaAsN confinement layers sandwiching the barrier layers can also be provided with a InGaAs quantum well. Quantum wells can be developed up to and including 50 ? in thickness.
