Patent number: 5791024Abstract: A side-actuated clip that is actuated by using only one hand. The clip consists of two halves, withone stationary and the other pivotal. A pivot shaft having a helical shape passes through a mounting bracket of the second, pivotal plate-half. The mounting bracket has an interior opening corresponding to the shape of the helically-shaped pivot shaft. The pivot shaft is spring biased. As the pivot shaft is translated in the mounting bracket secured to the second, pivotal plate-half, such movement causes the second plate-half to pivot open or closed, depending upon the direction of translation of the pivot shaft. The spring biases the shaft in a linear direction that pivots the second plate-half into its closed, clamping position.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 1997Date of Patent: August 11, 1998Inventor: Radomir M. Jovanovich

Patent number: 5216967Abstract: A refuse-burning apparatus having a main combustion-housing with an interior in which refuse is placed and burned, which main combustion-housing has a plurality of substantially-upright walls, a top wall, and a lower meshed screen. One side wall has an entrance through which refuse may enter into the interior of the housing, which entrance is selectively opened and closed. A loader for loading refuse into the interior of the housing is operatively associated with the entrance, so that refuse may be inserted into the interior when the entrance is opened up. A ventilator supplies air to the interior. An after-burner is mounted to the top wall of the main housing for achieving secondary burning of the refuse, which after-burner has a main frame, at least one burner mounted to the main frame, and exhaust for directing the products of combustion from the main frame to the ambient surroundings. In the preferred embodiment, the bottom meshed screen is periodically vibrated to loosen any ash lodged therein.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1992Date of Patent: June 8, 1993Inventor: Sam Mormino

Patent number: 5185779Abstract: A cellular backup system is provided for a standard security alarm network, so that upon the inoperativeness of the telephone land line, automatic switch over to the cellular system is achieved, so that a digital communicator or teleophone tape dialer may still transmit its distress call to a central alarm station, via the cellular system. A line fault monitor is provided which automatically detects the outage of the land-based telephone system which, in turn, provides an output signal to a latching relay which causes the activation of a pair of switching relays to automatically switch the connection of the alarm communicator from the DB-8 cord of the land-based system to a cellular interface coupled to a conventional cellular transceive of a cellular system. The switching relays are latched in the state connecting the alarm communicator to the cellular backup system and held in such a state, regardless of the state of the land-based system, as long as a manual rest switch has not been used.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1989Date of Patent: February 9, 1993Assignee: Norbert ZawackiInventors: Dennis B. Patent number: 5050509Abstract: An above ground enclosure for burning refuse including walls having vertically arranged tubes through which air from a manifold at one end of the tubes is circulated. A sheet of air is forced over the burning materials from a blower directing a stream of air from the vertically arranged tubes into horizontally arranged tubes pointing over the burning contents of the enclosure to cause a circulating drum-shaped rotating current of air over the burning material. The burning then can be done without letting smoke escape into surrounding areas.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 1990Date of Patent: September 24, 1991Inventor: Sam Mormino
