Abstract: A dynamic compensator for a fiber optic cable having a jacket which is centered along a longitudinal axis, an elongated buffer tube surrounded by the jacket, and an elongated fiber surrounded by the buffer tube and dimensioned to move radially inwards and outwards within the buffer tube. The dynamic compensator includes a cable holder configured to receive and loop a portion of the fiber optic cable so that when the jacket elongates, the fiber extending along the loop is displaced radially inwards so as to release stresses upon end portions of the fiber, and when the jacket shrinks, the fiber is displaced radially outward to increase stresses upon the end portions of the fiber.

Abstract: A portable laser head has a single-piece holder configured with a plurality of spaced-apart nests. The nests are arranged to receive at least a non-linear frequency converter, a V-shaped beam splitter and a dump collimator. Alternatively, the holder has multiple nests configured to receive an input collimator and output focusing optics unit in addition to the non-linear frequency converter, V-shaped beam splitter and dump collimator. The holder is characterized by small dimensions allowing for self-alignment of the above-referred components.

Abstract: A waveguide receiving light which propagates through free space is configured with a coupler and delivery fiber. The coupler, including a GREEN or multimode fiber, has a protective coating and so does the delivery fiber. Upon splicing of the coupler to the delivery fiber, the protective coatings of the respective coupler and delivery fiber are spaced apart exposing thus end regions of the respective coupler and fiber. The exposed regions are covered by a light stripper made of material having a refractive index which is substantially the same as or greater than that one of outer claddings. Accordingly, the light stripper minimizes the amount of light capable of coupling into the protective coatings of the respective delivery and coupler fibers enhancing thus a power handling capabilities of the waveguide.
Abstract: A connector for an armored cable mountable to a wiring box has a body provided with two biasing components which are operative to engage opposite sides of the wall of the wiring box and operative to maintain the desired position of the connector upon mounting its body to the box.
Abstract: A harness for supporting an instrument includes a pair of shoulder straps extending from waist belts and terminating above the person's chest and another strap connected to the pair of shoulder straps and extending therefrom downward to receive a hook assembly for supporting a musical instrument.
