Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide a computer implemented method, system and computer usable program code for automatically generating executable components from a process model. An input is received, wherein the input comprises a model that describes activities that needs to be performed as part of a business operation, a sequencing of the activities, and input and output data of the activities, forming a process model. A model of a set of connected business artifacts based on the process model, forming a business operation model, is generated. The business operation model is saved. The business operation model is displayed to a user. Executable components definitions based on the business operation model are generated.

Abstract: A system for surface resin thickness measurement on a fiber reinforced polmer composite includes a holding fixture configured to match a contour of a composite part in which a resin thickness is to be measured, a plurality of infrared measurement sensors in the holding fixture which can be moved along the surface to create a map of the surface to be measured, a computer-based data acquisition system interfacing with the plurality of infrared measurement sensors and calibration software supporting the data acquisition system.

Abstract: The MLP Financing System extends the properties of shares in a publicly traded entity that does not generate UBITs to create a new asset class that permits the underlying assets to be specifically structured for financing. MLP Financing System requires a minimum of three markets entering into transactions involving a company, a publicly traded entity, and a third entity in the financial industry. Each market establishes an asset value, price, yield, and risk. Asset price differentials between markets identify arbitrage opportunities. The market asset value, price, yield, risk, and financial constraints of entities operating in those markets provide the initial transaction specifications between company-MLP, financier-MLP, and company-financier.

Abstract: A method and system for utilizing a game console and an input device is disclosed. The method and system comprise mapping commands to system directives of the game console and generating an input signal having predefined characteristics corresponding to the input device being utilized to engage the system directives. The method and system include performing system functions using an input controller associated with the input device after the system directives are engaged.

Abstract: A method and system for tailoring a multimedia presentation of an event on a computerized multimedia system to meet a user's desires. In a preferred embodiment, a set of video streams and a set of audio streams for the event are provided to the user via a network coupled to the multimedia system. From the set of available video streams for the event, one or more video streams are selected for presentation to the user. From the set of available audio streams for the event, one or more audio streams are selected for presentation to the user. Furthermore, the relative volumes of the different audio streams may be adjusted. In response to user input, the selected video and audio streams are assigned to respective portions of video and audio output devices. The event is presented to the user according to the selected video stream assignments.

Abstract: The different illustrative embodiments provide a method for identifying landmarks in an image. An image of a worksite is received. The image is analyzed to determine a suggested identity of a worksite feature in the image. The suggested identity of the worksite feature is sent over a communications unit. A confirmation of the suggested identity of the worksite feature is received to form a confirmed identity. The confirmed identity and a number of attributes associated with the confirmed identity is stored in a database.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a platform configured to move in a streamwise direction, an actuation unit associated with a control surface of the platform, a fluid source configured to supply an airflow to the actuation unit, and a control unit for moving an air jet across the control surface. The actuation unit is configured to form a traversing air jet pointing in the streamwise direction.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product for creating secured file views of a protected file. The process receives a request to access the file, wherein the file is stored in a common location, and wherein the request includes a set of file viewing parameters. The process identifies a callback function associated with the file and calls the callback function with the set of file viewing parameters to form a set of virtual viewing parameters. Thereafter, the process generates a secured file view of the file using the virtual viewing parameters, wherein the secured file view is viewable by a user of an authorized partition.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring a space between parts having restricted access is disclosed. An apparatus may comprise an elongate member, a flange, and a measurement system. An end of the elongate member is configured to move through a hole in a first structure into a space located between the first structure and a second structure. The flange extends from the elongate member. The elongate member is configured to expand after the flange exits the hole in the first structure such that the flange is unable to pass back through the hole. The measurement system is configured to measure movement of the end of the elongate member to identify a length of the space between the first structure and the second structure.

Abstract: A method for controlling a portable audio device using radio frequency tuning is provided. A radio signal transmitter device communicatively coupled to the portable audio device transmits an audio signal of an audio file on a first radio frequency channel, a forward control signal on a second radio frequency channel, and a backward control signal on a third radio frequency channel to a radio signal receiver device. The portable audio device determines whether an audio output of the forward control signal is received by an audio receiver device. In response to determining that the portable audio device did receive the audio output of the forward control signal using the audio receiver device, the portable audio device plays a next audio file in a play list.

Abstract: An aircraft passenger seat configured in accordance with an embodiment of the invention utilizes composite materials to achieve significant weight savings relative to conventional seat designs. The seat includes one or more lightweight composite support legs, a lightweight composite seat pan, and a lightweight composite seat back structure. The support legs are coupled to the seat pan, which is in turn coupled to the seat back structure. The support legs utilize composite frame elements that are formed as continuous compression molded composite extrusions. The seat pan includes composite fore and aft cross beams that are also formed as continuous compression molded composite extrusions. The aft cross beam includes a rear flange that serves as a flexible “hinge” for the seat back structure. The seat can leverage producible and relatively inexpensive composite manufacturing techniques such that the seat can be economically produced for use as an economy class seat.

The compaction sheet includes a peripheral seal that seals the perimeter of the sheet to the surface of the part layup and forms a vacuum chamber over the plies which is evacuated through the sheet to apply compaction pressure to the plies.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product is provided for selecting subjects for treatment study cohorts. A set of selected dimensions for optimizing selection of subjects for a treatment cohort group and a control cohort group associated with a treatment study is identified. Attribute data associated with subjects in the pool of available subjects is clustered at the atomic level to form clustered cohort data. A set of optimized subjects from a pool of available subjects is selected using the clustered cohort data and the set of selected dimensions. Subjects in the set of optimized subjects are optimized across the set of selected dimensions. Each subject in the set of optimized subjects is assigned to the treatment cohort group or the control cohort group.

Abstract: A sensor network for monitoring vehicle operations comprises a set of wireless gateways, a plurality of wireless sensors, a plurality of wireless routers, and data processing system. The set of wireless gateways is capable of receiving emissions data from the sensor network. The plurality of wireless sensor units has sensors capable of monitoring vehicle emissions and is capable of generating the emissions data in response to monitoring the vehicle emissions. The plurality of wireless routers is capable of receiving emissions data received from the plurality of wireless sensor units and routing the emissions data received from the plurality of sensors to the set of wireless gateways. The data processing system is capable of receiving the operations data from the set of wireless gateways and capable of processing the operations data. The operations data may include data related to emissions from the vehicle or equipment.

Abstract: A fabrication method of forming curved thermoplastic composite laminate parts with tailored and varying thickness in a continuous process. Automated equipment or hand lay-up are used to collate parts or components into a multi-layer stack. Each stack contains all plies, including ply build-up areas, tacked in the proper location to maintain orientation and location. Ply consolidation tooling contains all necessary part features and is coordinated to the customized multiple ply stacks to form a single integrated thermoplastic composite laminate potentially having areas of differing thickness from the multiple ply stacks.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code for displaying a symbol representing an aircraft. The symbol is displayed representing the aircraft at a location on a map at a first level of detail. The symbol represents a position of the aircraft on the map, moves on the map in a manner that represents movement of the aircraft with respect to features on the map, has a fixed level of detail that does not change as levels of detail change for the map, and has an anchor point at a first point on the symbol in which the anchor point is used as a point of rotation for the symbol. A second point is identified for the anchor point on the symbol such that view point of the symbol at the second level of detail remains fixed relative to the display of the symbol at the first level of detail. The map is displayed at the second level of detail. The symbol is displayed on the map using the second point for the anchor point.

Abstract: The illustrative embodiments disclose a process for provisioning a server on a network. In one embodiment, the process sends a server identifier to a management server in response to receiving a boot command. The management server uses the server identifier for identifying a designated operating environment for the server to form a designated operating environment identifier. The process then receives, from the management server, the designated operating environment identifier and a first bootstrap code. The process uses the first bootstrap code to extract information for identifying a local operating environment on the server. Thereafter, the process compares the local operating environment to the designated operating environment and initiates a final boot sequence of the server based on the comparison of the local operating environment and the designated operating environment.

Abstract: In a method for teaching a vocabulary, a computer receives a user selection of a chapter from a plurality of chapters in a Chinese-English textbook, a user selection of a language in which to display questions in a user interface, wherein the language in which to display the questions is one of English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Pin Yin, and a user selection of a language in which to receive answers to the questions in the user interface, wherein the language in which to receive the answers is another of the one of English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Pin Yin. The computer determines a question including a vocabulary word in the chapter and in the language in which to display the questions. In response to receiving an answer to the question in the language in which to receive the answers, the computer determines if the answer is correct.
