Abstract: An aircraft joint comprises a wing structure and a wing tip. The wing structure has a first part of a clevis and lug fastening system located around an outer end of the wing structure. The wing tip has a second part of the clevis and lug fastening system located around an end of the wing tip. The wing tip is capable of being joined to the outer end of the wing structure. An upper aerodynamic surface and a lower aerodynamic surface are formed by joining the wing structure and the wing tip. The first part and the second part are located about a center between the upper aerodynamic surface and the lower aerodynamic surface. The first part and the second part engage each other such that a moment reaction occurs around the upper aerodynamic surface and the lower aerodynamic surface.
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for logically partitioning resources of a single channel adapter for use in a system area network. Each resource includes a partition identifier register within which is stored a partition identifier. A first one of the resources is assigned to a first partition by storing a first partition identifier in the partition identifier register within the first one of the resources. A second one of the resources is assigned to a second partition by storing a second partition identifier in the partition identifier register within the second one of the resources. Partitioning of the resources is enforced by permitting access to the first resource by only the first partition and permitting access to the second resource by only the second partition by checking the partition identifiers of each resource.

Abstract: A relay component is deployed to a Web application. The relay component converts Web software components to a format expected by an integration broker. Developers may then implement an integration strategy entirely in the integration broker and then connect the presentation layer of the Web pages to the integration broker logic via the Web software components. When the data format of the disparate applications changes or is otherwise updated, developers may simply rebind the business object definitions from the integration brokers to Web software components, rather than recoding the entire Web application.

Abstract: A system for automatic user skill-gap evaluation using a proxy server or a proxy application. The proxy server or application receives a user input from a user and analyzes the user input to determine whether the user input falls below an acceptable user skill threshold level. The user input consists of user activity within an application and the user activity is recorded in a user action log. To determine whether the user input falls below the acceptable user skill threshold level, the proxy server or application compares the user activity recorded in the user action log with user skill-gap behavior patterns created by a subject matter expert. In response to determining that the user activity recorded in the user action log falls below the acceptable user skill threshold level, the proxy server or application sends a specific training module to the user based on an identified user skill-gap.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for an improved bulk read socket call are provided. With the apparatus and method, a new field, so_rcvlen, is added to the socket structure that identifies the bulk read size requested by the user. The kernel of the prior art recv( ) function is also modified so that it sets the so_rcvlen to the size requested by the user prior to the recv( ) function going to sleep and waiting for the full data size requested by the user. A new flag, SP_MSGWAITALL, is also provided in the socket structure. In the TCP input processing, when data is received for a particular socket, the current setting of the SP_MSGWAITALL is checked. If the SP_MSGWAITALL flag is set, it is determined whether the amount of data stored in the socket receive buffer is less than the value of so_rcvlen. If not, the TCP input processing does not wake up the recv( ) thread. However, for every alternate segment, the TCP input processing sends back an acknowledgment (ACK).

Abstract: A variety of techniques are disclosed for efficient liveness monitoring in a reliable publish/subscribe multicast system having at least one broker and at least one subscriber, by: at the broker, sending (310) a status request message to the subscriber, and at the subscriber, sending (350) a status response message to the broker to indicate liveness. Status responses by subscribers may be suppressed when at least a chosen minimum number (>=1) of subscribers send a response. This suppression (320-340) uses a system of “response claim” messages and random back-off timers. These provide the advantage that the efficiency of network usage is improved by reducing the number of unwanted packets that are sent.
