Abstract: A system, and a method for manufacturing that system, for electrically and automatically opening, closing and otherwise controlling window shutters on a building, for the purposes of limiting radiant, conductive, and convective thermal losses from the inside of the building to the outside during the heating season, and limiting radiant, conductive, and convective thermal gains from the outside of the building to the inside during the cooling season. The system further comprises an interface to accommodate connection to other sensors not used to control the thermal environment of the building, such as motion detectors, burglar alarms, CO sensors and the like.

Abstract: A device to facilitate filling a reusable bag, a conventional trash bag or a receptacle. The device and bag or receptacle are used horizontally. The device comprises a funneled receiver, channel, stakes, and optionally four legs. The receiver is a scoop-like device having semi-frusto-conical cross-sections. The channel is a non-funneled extension of the receiver, having trapezoidal cross-sections. If a bag is used, the device facilitates filling the bag and it also holds open the bag. The optional four legs also hold open the body of the bag and, by contributing to the stability of the device, they allow the device to be smaller and lighter than otherwise. The device is normally placed on the ground, and inserted into either the bag or the receptacle. Leaves, grass clippings and other debris are raked or otherwise projected through the front of the receiver. The front of the receiver has a turned-over lip that facilitates filling the bag and that also acts as a handle.
Abstract: A system and method to authenticate a user utilizing a time-varying auxiliary code. The code may be appended to a fixed password, but that is not required. The code is generated by a central electronic authentication system. The user retrieves it manually using a fungible communications device such as a telephone or a computer connected to the Internet. The user must learn the code because he inputs it manually, thereby authenticating himself. The present invention performs the same function as inventions with tokens, that is, it provides an extension to the PIN or password, but it eliminates the token and the synchronization required with such a token.
Abstract: The specification and drawing figures describe and show holder for a non-folding tool that includes a first case formed with a duct. The first case is connected to a deployment control unit detachably that is removably insertable in the first case. At least one second case is included that is formed with a cavity. A plurality of second cases are provided to accommodate varying dimensions of the non-folding tool. The second case is removably connectable to the first case. A tension membrane, slidably insertable into the first case, is provided for controlling movement of the tool within the holder. A variably positionable mounting assembly engageable with the holder and with a user is provided. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure, but this abstract is not to be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of any claim.
