Abstract: An improved surface mount resistor and method for making the same includes a body comprised of an elongated strip of electrically resistive material and a resistor terminal formed at each end of the resistive material. The resistive material is machined with a laser beam to create a current path having a desired resistance. The pattern cut is determined by partitioning the resistive material into a plurality of squares forming a current path through the resistive material with the correct resistivity. The resistive material is cut primarily with axial cuts so that the beam strength of the resistive material is maintained.
Abstract: A control for a waste water drain in the bottom of a bathtub which has an overflow port above the drain in the end wall of the bathtub has a vertical drain pipe having upper and lower ends. A first fluid port is located at the upper end of the vertical drain pipe and a second fluid port is located below the first fluid port for connection to a bathtub waste water drain. A valve element is slidably mounted in the vertical drain pipe adjacent the second port and is movable between a lower position to close the second port to fluid flow, and an upper position which will open the second fluid port to fluid flow. An electrical solenoid is mounted adjacent the first port. An elongated linkage connects the valve element to the plunger of the solenoid so that the movement of the plunger in one direction will raise the valve element to the upper position, and movement of the plunger in the opposite direction will lower the valve element to the lower position. The vertical drain pipe is length-adjustable.
Abstract: A protective hood for a golf bag wherein the hood comprises inner and outer members defining a compartment therebetween which is divided into an upper compartment and a lower compartment. The upper compartment in the hood is filled with a thick padding material while the lower compartment is filled with a layer of foam material. The hood is designed so that it may be used with golf bags having various diameters and carrying strap configurations.
Abstract: A height referencing biochemical cassette comprising of a surface suitable to act as a coupling agent, a height referencing indicator, and molecules bonded to the surface. This cassette is a capable of use to test for bonding to these molecules through measuring the height difference between the indicator and the surface. This invention provides an efficient means to quickly and easily test for bonding of molecules to other molecules.

Abstract: A cooled display case includes a plurality of walls enclosing a compartment for displaying merchandise. A door is fitted within a door opening of the cooling compartment and swings from a closed position to a first open position and a second open position. A door closer yieldably urges the door to the closed position whenever the door is in a position other than the second open position. The door closer yieldably holds the door against swinging movement whenever the door is in the second open position. The door closer includes a guide arm which rolls within a guide track mounted on the door, and a track stop is detachably mounted to the track to block movement of the guide member in the track to prevent the door from moving to its second open position. The method involves selectively removing the stop pin so that the door is free to move to its second open position.
Abstract: The multiple pump apparatus includes first and second variable displacement closed circuit pumps. The multiple pump apparatus pressurizes fluid to be subsequently supplied to drive load devices. The first and second pumps each have fluid communication lines connected to load devices through flow control valves. Each of the pumps has a swashplate for varying its displacement. The swashplates are of the over-center type, enabling each pump to supply pressurized fluid in either direction, thus providing both forward and reverse function to the load devices. The first pump has its fluid communicating lines connected to fluid communicating lines between first and second two-position four-way flow control valves. The opposite side of the first flow control valve has fluid communicating lines connected to a load device which drives a harvesting mechanism, in this case a rotor motor.
Abstract: A closed loop dispensing system for use on a liquid container such as a bottle or the like for dispensing the liquid contents from the bottle. The outlet opening of the bottle is closed by a throat plug having a valve positioned therein which is open when the container cap is mounted on the container, but which automatically closes when the cap is removed from the container. A dip tube extends downwardly from the container insert and is in communication with the valve so that liquid in the bottle may be drawn therethrough. A closure cap is mounted on the bottle and has a dispensing tube extending therefrom for dispensing liquid from the container to a mixing machine or the like. A check valve is associated with the cap for preventing backflow from the dispensing tube to the container and for permitting liquid flow from the container to the dispensing tube in response to suction being applied to the dispensing tube.
Abstract: A freezeless wall hydrant/faucet has an inlet pipe with one end connected to a source of pressurized water, a water discharge conduit, and an elongated control rod extending through the inlet pipe to open and close a fluid valve. A bore is inserted through the fluid valve with the bore being in communication with both the source of pressurized water and the interior portion of the inlet pipe. A check valve is placed in the bore of the valve body to open only when extreme water pressure within the inlet valve moves a seated ball to permit the highly pressurized water to move through the bore in the valve body and be relieved as it escapes rearwardly into the original source of pressurized water.
Abstract: A particulate material accelerator conveyor includes a housing having a wall with openings therein for an air inlet, a particular material inlet, and a mixture outlet; a feed auger rotatably mounted in the housing and in fluid communication with the particulate material inlet so as to convey particulate material from the inlet into an acceleration chamber within the housing; and a fan rotatably mounted in the housing in fluid communication with the air inlet and the acceleration chamber. The fan includes a plurality of fan blades for accelerating air from the air inlet toward the housing wall and thereby providing a flow of accelerated air along the inside of the wall and toward the particulate material and move therewith toward the mixture outlet. The positioning of the fan in the housing and the resulting air flow therefrom prevents particulate material from contacting the fan blades and thereby damaging the particulate material.
Abstract: A deburring head is mounted on a frame for movement toward and away from a workpiece also mounted on the frame. The deburring head includes a plurality of deburring brushes which are rotated and which are adapted to engage the workpiece and remove burrs from the workpiece.
Abstract: A crane-mounted concrete pumper has been provided wherein a telescoping boom assembly is pivotally and rotatably mounted on the platform of the truck. A concrete conduit is positioned in the interior of the boom assembly and has its intake end operatively connected to a concrete pump mounted on the truck by means of a flexible concrete hose. An extension boom is pivotally mounted on the boom assembly and may be pivoted from a folded, inoperative position to an extended position. A concrete conduit is provided in the interior of the extension boom and is placed into communication with the concrete conduit in the boom assembly when the extension boom is in its extended position. The crane may be either used to pump concrete or used in a conventional fashion. An aerial platform is provided on the boom assembly to enable an operator to pump or spray concrete.
Abstract: A filter system includes a tank for holding waste water with an inlet port for receiving waste water from an electroplating process, and an outlet port for dispensing filtered water back to the electroplating process. A plurality of anode elements and cathode elements are arranged within the tank in a repeating pattern of anode and cathode from one end of the tank to the other. The anode elements are formed of a mesh sheet of electrically conductive material, and the cathode elements include a pair of electrically conductive mesh sheets which are mounted to a frame to form a box. Each cathode box is filled with electrically conductive shavings, to increase the surface area for removing heavy metals from the waste water. The anodes and cathodes are removably slidably received within the tank, and are electrically connected to a DC power supply, the anodes connected to the positive terminal and the cathodes connected to the negative terminal.
