Patent number: 11819727Abstract: An exercise apparatus includes an elongated support element extending between first and second ends. The support element has a mounting member located at each of the first and second ends to engage with a door or wall surface and mount the support element thereto. A resistance-generating assembly includes a stationary member attached to the support element. A displaceable member is mountable to the support element and displaceable therealong relative to the stationary member. A resilient member is removably mountable between the stationary and displaceable members. The resilient member generates resistance upon being elastically deformed by displacement of the displaceable member relative to the stationary member. A pulley is mounted to the displaceable member and displaceable therewith, and another pulley is mounted to the support element. A hand-operable cable engages the pulleys to effect displacement of the displaceable member relative to the stationary member. A method is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2021Date of Patent: November 21, 2023Assignee: 1195143 B.C. LTD.Inventor: Brian K. Robinson

Patent number: 11452898Abstract: A resistance-generating device includes a resilient body extending between opposed ends. The resilient body has a first portion extending between first and second mounting members of the device, and a second portion extending between the first and second mounting members. The first portion is spaced apart from the second portion, and the first and second mounting members are made of an inelastic material. At least one of the first and second mounting members is removably mountable to a corresponding one of the first and second mounting members of another resistance-generating device. The resilient body generates resistance upon the first and second portions being elastically deformed by displacement of the second mounting member mounted to a second structure relative to the first mounting member mounted to a first structure.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2021Date of Patent: September 27, 2022Assignee: 1195143 B.C. Patent number: 11141620Abstract: A seated exercise unit includes a base raised from a floor and supported thereby. The base extends between a first end and an opposed second end. A resistance-generating assembly includes a stationary band anchor attached to the base. The resistance-generating assembly includes a displaceable seat member removably mounted to the base and displaceable therealong between the first and second ends of the base. The seat member has a displaceable band anchor spaced apart from the stationary band anchor and displaceable with the seat member relative to the stationary band anchor. At least one resilient band is mountable to the stationary and displaceable band anchors and extends therebetween. The at least one resilient band generates resistance upon being elastically deformed by displacement of the displaceable band anchor relative to the stationary band anchor.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2018Date of Patent: October 12, 2021Assignee: 1195143 B.C. Patent number: 10953259Abstract: A resistance-generating includes an elongated resilient body having opposed ends. A first mounting member is attached to the resilient body at one of the ends, and a second mounting member attached to the other end. The first and second mounting members are made of an inelastic material. At least one of the first and second mounting members is removably mountable to a corresponding one of the first and second mounting members of another device. The first mounting member is removably mountable to a first structure and the second mounting member is removably mountable to a second structure being displaceable relative to the first structure.
