Patents Assigned to 1552818 Ontario Limited
  • Patent number: 11732741
Abstract: A ratchet toggle connector for fastening together two or more workpieces. The fastener includes an anchor ribbon and a retaining cap. The anchor ribbon includes an extended ribbon with an integrated gear rack, and an integral anchor with a pair of bendable tapered wings. The retaining cap houses a pawl and a slot sized and shaped to receive a free end of the extended ribbon. In use, the gear rack and pawl engage to resist retraction of the retaining cap when the extended ribbon is received in the slot, and the wings are configured to bend toward the extended ribbon to a collapsed state for passage of the anchor through an opening in a workpiece and to rebound to an expanded state following passage of the anchor through the opening, to prevent retraction of the anchor through the opening.

  • Patent number: 11231128
Abstract: A conduit weighting device has a container to contain ballast. The container is formed from flexible sheet material and has a top opening to receive the ballast. The device has flaps extending from respective opposite edges of the top opening of the container. The container forms an underside channel sized and shaped to receive a conduit for conforming placement of the conduit weighting device on the conduit to weight the conduit. The flaps are sized and shaped: when in an open arrangement, to extend beyond edges of a trench containing the conduit to hold open the top opening while receiving the ballast material; and when in a closed arrangement, to close the top opening of the container. The weighting device may be placed on an entrenched conduit before filling, and then filled in place with locally-available backfill. The device may be transported to the site in a collapsed compact form.

  • Patent number: 10920909
Abstract: A pipeline shield is formed of modular pipeline shield panels into a generally tubular shape to fittingly envelope a pipeline. Each panel is formed of a rectangular sheet of durable material formed or formable into an arcuate shape having longitudinal ribs projecting radially from a surface of the sheet and defining longitudinal valleys, and coupling means configured for secure assembly with other modular pipeline shield panels to form the pipeline shield. The pipeline shield reduces or prevents damage from impact or abrasion when the pipeline is lowered into a trench and buried. The longitudinal ribs may extend an entire length of the panel, or may be less than an entire length of the panel and longitudinally staggered to facilitate rolling of the pipeline in a roller cradle during installation. Drainage holes provide for drainage of liquid away from the pipeline or to provide a path for cathodic protection current.
