Publication number: 20240254760Abstract: A method of providing fire protection to a structure includes the step of installing an intumescent mesh on a surface of the structure such that the intumescent mesh is exposed to outdoor environmental conditions. The intumescent mesh includes a mesh with a series of openings and an intumescent coating applied to the flexible grid such that air can pass through the openings in the intumescent mesh. The intumescent coating includes expandable graphite and a polymer-based carrier; and the intumescent coating does not degrade when exposed the outdoor environmental conditions. The intumescent coating remains flexible and resists cracking and spalling from the flexible grid.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 15, 2024Publication date: August 1, 2024Applicant: 1824930 Alberta Ltd.Inventors: Wesley James Wall, Adam Wall, Shekaib Adab

Publication number: 20230338757Abstract: An intumescent mesh comprises a mesh structure woven from strands that define openings in the mesh structure, the strands being made from non-metal materials. An intumescent material is applied to the strands, the intumescent material being carried such that, in an inactivated state the intumescent material permits airflow through the openings in the mesh structure, and in an activated state, the intumescent material swells and restricts airflow through the openings in the mesh structure. The intumescent mesh is able to withstand a temperature of at least 980° C. for at least 10 minutes prior to failure.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2021Publication date: October 26, 2023Applicant: 1824930 ALBERTA LTD.Inventors: Wesley James WALL, Adam WALL, Shekaib ADAB

Patent number: 10899116Abstract: A protective cover for a pole that is typically oriented vertically with a top surface at a top end of the pole and an outer surface that extends down from an outer perimeter of the top surface is provided. The protective cover has a flexible substrate with a central section that engages the top surface of the pole and an outer section that engages the outer surface of the pole. A preservative agent is carried on the central section of the flexible substrate such that the preservative agent engages the top surface of the pole when the cover is installed.Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2018Date of Patent: January 26, 2021Assignee: 1824930 Alberta Ltd.Inventors: Wesley Wall, Adam Wall, Shekaib Adab
