Abstract: Particles conveying a code are incorporated into polymer matrix to form a core document substrate. These particles may be colored to create a distinctive look of the document that makes it unique for a particular document issuer and enables visual authentication. Addition of a covert attribute to the particle, such as a UV pigment or hidden layer of material, allows a covert, forensic characteristic and it also allows a mathematical description to be calculated describing the random distribution of a specific area on a document and then captured on it (e.g., in the bar code or magnetic stripe or digital watermark on an ID document).
Abstract: An image destruct material comprises a release layer positioned between an image receiving layer and a base layer. The adhesion between the release layer and the base layer is greater than adhesion between the release layer and the image receiving layer. The release layer material can be used in secure documents that have an image receiving layer. After information is printed on the image receiving layer, an overlaminate is applied over it. Removal of the overlaminate destroys the printed image on the receiving layer because of the relative adhesive properties of the image receiving layer, overlaminate and release layer.

The swivel portion is pivotly coupled to the base portion through a pivot assembly, wherein the tool is capable of being rotated about an angle with respect to an axis of the chuck through rotation of the extension shaft in response to rotation of the chuck.
Abstract: A tool for aiding marking or cutting is described. A V-shaped member having an edge formed at an exterior apex of the V for guiding a marker or cutting tool. The exterior surfaces of the V-shaped member may have a material applied having a higher coefficient of friction than that of the V-shaped member. The edge at the apex of the V may have two substantially planar surfaces, each of which forms a complimentary angle with the interior apex angle of the V, or a thin metal portion formed in the exterior apex of the V so that an edge thereof protrudes sloping towards a surface on which the tool is laid. A graduated scale may be applied to an exterior surface of the tool at a location near the apex.
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a dual technology relief tap, and more specifically, to a relief tap where a segment on the threaded portion has a first type of relief and the remainder of the threads have a second type of relief or a concentric thread to limit tilt and loosening and ultimately to prevent overfeed or underfeed. In some embodiments, a neutral, negative, positive, convex, or other type of relief is applied generally to most of the threaded portion with or without concentric threads, and a second type of relief of any type, such as a neutral, a negative, a positive, a convex, or other relief, is applied to some selected threads. In another embodiment, the second type of relief is applied to the first threads after the chamfer or are spaced regularly over the threaded surface.
Abstract: A method includes receiving an indication of at least one detected security issue at a network device. The indication is received from a security agent at a security manager processor. The method includes polling, via the security manager processor, at least one other network device in response to the indication in order to retrieve additional information when the security manager processor determines that the additional information is needed. The method includes selecting, via the security manager processor, at least one executable security object responsive to the indication and the additional information. The method also includes initiating communication of the at least one executable security object to the network device via the security manager processor.

Abstract: The asphalt roofing material is delivered into a treatment chamber of a processor. Hot oil is passed through a jacket surrounding the treatment chamber. Heated asphalt forms a hot solid and/or a liquefied slurry. The hot solid and/or the liquefied slurry is then removed from the treatment chamber. The asphalt roofing material in the treatment chamber can be agitated to promote mixing. The asphalt is heated to a temperature in the range from 200 degrees Fahrenheit to 650 degrees Fahrenheit within the treatment chamber. The solid and/or liquefied slurry is milled after it has been removed from the treatment chamber. The solid and/or the liquefied slurry is cooled after it exits the treatment chamber, preferably to a temperature in the range of approximately 90 degrees Fahrenheit to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The hot solid and/or the liquefied slurry is passed through a hammer mill after the hot solid and/or the liquefied slurry exits the treatment chamber to reduce the particle size of the solid particles.
Abstract: A dual-loop antenna includes a grounding unit, a shorting unit, a feeding unit, a first loop radiating unit and a second loop radiating unit. The shorting unit has at least one shorting pin disposed on the grounding unit. The feeding unit has at least one feeding pin separated from the shorting pin by a predetermined distance and suspended above the grounding unit at a predetermined distance. The first loop radiating unit is disposed above the grounding unit at a predetermined distance. The first loop radiating unit has two ends respectively electrically connected to the shorting unit and the feeding unit. The second loop radiating unit is disposed above the grounding unit at a predetermined distance and around the first loop radiating unit. The second loop radiating unit has two ends respectively electrically connected to the shorting unit and the feeding unit.
Abstract: A tool for removing conventional one way fasteners that includes, generally, a member, a collar, and, a shaft that can be removably received by the collar, wherein in the shaft is configured to engage regions of the fastener head. The collar is adjustable to fit fastener heads of different sizes. The member can be configured to correspond to a threaded portion of the outer surface of the collar. The collar may also have a bottom portion that includes multiple splines.
Abstract: A handling system for multiple workpieces is provided for repeatedly lifting rows of multiple workpieces on a lift assembly from a collection of workpieces in a hopper and selectively delivering one or more rows of orientated workpieces to an exit conveyor. Any disoriented workpieces on the exit conveyor can be discarded from the exit conveyor and returned to the collection of workpieces in the hopper.

Abstract: The invention relates to identification documents, and in particular to providing optically variable personalized data to identification documents. In one implementation, we provide an identification document comprising a document layer and a first indicium. The document layer comprises a material capable of being printed by a thermally transferable optically variable ink. The first indicium is printed on the document layer and comprises personalized data and printed to the document layer by a thermally transferred optically variable ink. The first indicium may be printed to the document layer by disposing a thermally transferable optically variable ink in a mass transfer panel of a printer ribbon adapted for use in a dye diffusion thermal transfer printer, and printing the first indicium as part of a mass transfer printing process.

Abstract: Some embodiments include apparatus and methods to test a device having a driving layer and a sensing layer. A test signal is applied to electrodes of the driving layer in a capacitive load state, with a capacitive load applied, and in an ambient state, without a capacitive load applied. Measured values are obtained at the sensing layer for each state. The measured values are compared with threshold values. A report is generated when a measured value violates a threshold. In one embodiment, the driving layer and the sensing layer form multiple capacitive electrodes within a touch sensor. The measured values are related to mutual capacitance values of the touch sensor.
