  • Patent number: 10609358
Abstract: An imaging system includes a camera, a display panel and a processor for providing image data to the display panel. The camera has a sensor with pixel rows for capturing an image taken by a camera lens through a lenticular sheet with first lenticules, such that each first lenticule covers at least two pixel rows. The display panel is used to show a displayed image based on the image data. The display panel is covered by a viewing lenticular sheet with second lenticules. The displayed image has a plurality of segments, with each segment under a second lenticule and each segment has sub-segments corresponding to pixel rows under a first lenticule. Image data provided to the image display panel is arranged such that image contents in the sub-segments under each second lenticule and image contents in the pixel rows under each first lenticule have different arrangement orders.

  • Patent number: 9086574
Abstract: A compressed print having one or more compressed images of a symbol is disclosed. The compressed images are formed on an image forming surface under a lenticular sheet. The lenticular sheet has a plurality of lenticules and each of the compressed images has a plurality of image elements formed under a lenticule. Each of the image elements is corresponding to a different portion of the symbol. The lenticules are designed to be so small that the compressed image formed under each of the lenticules is not discernible when a viewer looks at the compressed print at a normal viewing distance. As such, the miniaturized compressed images of the symbol can be used as an identification tag, hidden in the compressed print.

  • Patent number: 9066083
Abstract: A single-lens 2D/3D camera has a light valve placed in relationship to a lens module to control the light beam received by the lens module for forming an image on an image sensor. The light valve has a light valve area positioned in a path of the light beam. The light valve has two or more clearable sections such that only one section is made clear to allow part of the light beam to pass through. By separately making clear different sections on the light valve, a number of images as viewed through slightly different angles can be captured. The clearable sections include a right section and a left section so that the captured images can be used to produce 3D pictures or displays. The clearable sections also include a middle section so that the camera can be used as a 2D camera.

  • Patent number: 8848040
Abstract: A 3D display system uses a lenticular screen or a parallax barrier, along with a shutter plate, as a light directing device to allow a viewer's right eye to see a right image and the left eye to see a left image on a display panel. The right and left images are alternately displayed. The shutter plate has a plurality of right shutter segments and a plurality of left shutter segments arranged in an interleaving manner. When the right image is displayed, the right shutter segments are open and the left shutter segments are closed. When the left image is displayed, the right shutter segments are closed and the left shutter segments are open. But when the 3D display panel is used as a 2D display panel, both the right and left shutter segments are all open so that both the viewer's eyes see the image simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 8818185
Abstract: A 3D photographic printer uses a monochrome panel for displaying two or more images for composing a 3D photograph. Each image has a plurality of color image components. A light source with selectable color light components is used to illuminate the monochrome panel corresponding to the displayed color image components. The images are displayed at different locations so that these images can be projected onto a 3D print material through a projection lens at different projection angles. With the digital display device, it is possible to electronically locate the images at different locations and shift the images or mechanically moving the display device during the 3D photographic composing process. It is also possible that only the print material is mechanically shifted to different locations. The display device and the projection lens can be stationary.

  • Patent number: 8629945
Abstract: A viewing system has a parallax separation device placed in front of a liquid crystal display panel. The liquid display panel can be used to display a composite image that has many display segments, with each segment having two or more elongated image sections of different images. Each image section may occupy one or more columns of color pixels. The parallax separation device has a plurality of parallax separation elements, each aligned with a display segment for separating the different image sections as seen in a viewer's eyes. The parallax separation device has a barrier axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the elongated image sections. The color sub-pixels in each pixel are arranged along a direction parallel to the barrier axis. A tracking device and a processor are used to determine the locations of image sections under the parallax separation elements based on positions of a viewer.

  • Publication number: 20130044372
Abstract: An image display having a plurality of color sub-pixels is disclosed. The present invention provides a method for arranging the color sub-pixels such that in a column of pixels the sub-pixels of the same color do not form a straight sub-column. In other words, a sub-pixel column contains the sub-pixels of two or more different colors. When a parallax separator, such as a lenticular screen, is placed in relationship to the image display to form a 3D display, the longitudinal axis of the lenticules can be substantially parallel to the sub-pixel columns. Since a sub-pixel column contains the sub-pixels of two or more different colors, each view of the 3D display as separated by a lenticule contains the sub-pixels of two or more different colors. As such, the 3D display image will not appear as monochromatic at a certain viewing angle.

  • Publication number: 20130033577
Abstract: A multiple-lens camera has only one image sensor to capture a number of images at different viewing angles. Using a single image sensor, instead of a number of separate image sensors, to capture multiple images simultaneously, one can avoid the calibration process to calibrate the different image sensors to make sure that color balance and the gain are the same for all the image sensors used. The camera has an adjustment mechanism for adjusting the distance between the image lenses, and a processor to receive from the image sensor electronic signals indicative of image data of the captured of images. The camera has a connector to transfer the processed image data to an external device or to an image display. The image display device is configured to display one of said plurality of images.
