Abstract: A collapsible acoustic honeycomb ceiling installation can be made by cutting desired material into panels. Next, a manufacturer can cut one or more notches into the panels. The manufacturer can assemble the collapsible acoustic honeycomb ceiling installation by aligning the one or more notches on the panels and slideably connecting the panels. The resultant collapsible acoustic honeycomb ceiling installation can provide a versatile decorative feature to a space while maintaining or altering the acoustics of the space as desired. Further, because the ceiling installation is collapsible, a manufacturer or installer can easily transport, install, and remove the ceiling installation.

Abstract: Embodiments are generally directed to a sound-dampening light fixture. In one embodiment, the sound-dampening light fixture includes the following: a structural center portion that includes a housing for a light source, and at least one interconnecting ring that includes connection points for connecting panels to the interconnecting ring. The sound-dampening light fixture also includes panels arranged circumferentially around the structural center portion. The panels are connected to the interconnecting ring at the connection points. The panels are arranged at angles that are designed to dampen sound waves, and are constructed from material that further dampens sound waves coming into contact therewith.
Abstract: Embodiments described herein are directed to a sound-dampening baffle and lighting apparatus and methods of production therefor. In one embodiment, a sound-dampening baffle and lighting apparatus is provided that includes a structural frame which provides support for a sound-dampening outer layer and a light source. The sound-dampening outer layer is disposed around the structural frame. The sound-dampening baffle and lighting apparatus also includes a light source disposed on the structural frame. The light source is directionally switchable so that light emanating from the light source points upward, downward or both.

Abstract: A light shade can include a top surface formed by a plurality of adjacent, alternating peak and trough folds that define intervening facets, a bottom surface disposed opposite the top surface, and an edge surface transverse to and connecting the top surface and the bottom surface. The intervening facets can each be in the shape of a triangle with adjacent triangular facets sharing an edge. The shared edge can be one of a peak fold or a trough fold. One or more of the trough folds can have a plunge between the edge surface and an opposing side of the top surface. In an implementation, the light shade can be manufactured from a unitary polymeric sheet with the bottom surface being a mirror image of the top surface.
