  • Patent number: 8379982
Abstract: A method and system for matching two biometric images including receiving an input biometric image; generating an index table for the input biometric image, wherein the index table includes a quality quantity for each minutia of the input biometric image; receiving a second biometric image; generating a number of patterns for a first minutia of the second biometric image; associatively accessing the index table by the generated number of patterns; accumulating quality quantities accessed from the index table for each minutia of the input biometric image for the number of patterns of the first minutia of the second biometric image; and selecting a minutia candidate of the input biometric image responsive to the accumulated quality quantities.

  • Patent number: 8275179
Abstract: An apparatus for capturing the image of a wet/moist fingerprint. The apparatus includes: a prism having an imaging plane on which a finger having valleys and ridges is place, a bottom plane parallel to the imaging plane and a reflective plane intercepting the imaging plane and intercepting the bottom plane at an angle ?; a light source for generating a light with an incident angle of approximately 0° with respect to a surface normal of the imaging plane; and a lens for capturing light reflected from the reflective plane. The apparatus further includes an image sensor for generating an image of the valleys and ridges of the finger, wherein the reflective plane is arranged in such a way to meet the equation of ?>45 +(arc sin (n1/n2))/2, where n1 is a refraction index of medium filled between the valleys of the finger and the imaging plane, and n2 is refraction index of the prism.

  • Patent number: 8254728
Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention is a system for organizing data flow for two dimensional digital image processing. The system includes a memory access module for accessing an external memory containing image data to be processed, and a data flow organizer module for preparing a data stream from the input image data accessed by the memory access module. The data flow organizer module predicts future data needed for processing, and the memory access module pre-fetches the predicted data from the memory. A data processing module processes the pre-fetched data from the data flow organizer module. Address generation for accessing the memory is performed independent and in parallel with processing the pre-fetched data.
