    Abstract: A component of an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine. The component comprises an exhaust system structure having an interior through which exhaust gases flow and an exterior, and a thermal insulating wrap for thermally insulating at least a portion of the exterior of the exhaust system structure. The thermal insulating wrap comprises an aqueous mixture comprising an inorganic binder and inorganic filler particles, and a fabric comprising inorganic fibers. The fabric is impregnated with the aqueous mixture so as to form a pliable binder wrap. The pliable binder wrap is wound completely around at least a portion of the exhaust system structure. It can be desirable for the component to further comprise at least one thermal insulator comprising inorganic fibers, where the thermal insulator is disposed between the pliable binder wrap and the exterior of the exhaust system structure.

    Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to conformable adhesive articles that are capable of attaching or adhering to a substrate and that can be removed from the substrate without causing damage to the substrate. The present disclosure also generally relates to methods of making and using such adhesive articles. In some embodiments, the adhesive article includes (1) a releasable layer having a first major surface and a second major surface; the second major surfaces including a pressure sensitive adhesive capable of adhering the adhesive article to a surface; and (2) a compliant layer having a first major surface and a second major surface; the second major surface of the compliant layer adjacent to the first major surface of the releasable layer. In some embodiments, the releasable layer debonds from both the surface and the compliant layer when the adhesive article is stretch released at an angle of less than 35 degrees.

The dental assemblies include a dental article with a bonding surface an adhesive having both a compressible material and at least one hardenable dental composition extending across the bonding surface. The compressible material is coupled to the dental article by a first quantity of hardened dental composition extending at least partially through the compressible material and contacting the bonding surface. The hardened dental composition extends over less than the entire bonding surface. Adjacent portions of the compressible material contain a second quantity of unhardened dental composition, preserving flexibility of the compressible material. Advantageously, this configuration was found to enhance bond reliability and facilitate manufacturing.

The presence of the cellulose nanocrystals advantageously increases the water uptake capacity of the silicone-based adhesive while maintaining acceptable adhesive performance.
