The first plate has a plurality of recesses provided in a rear face. The second plate has a plurality of recesses provided in a front face that can be substantially aligned with the plurality of recesses in the back face of the first plate. A number of brushes, each brush having a ferrule and a tuft of bristles, can be clamped between the first plate and the second plate where they are held in place between the first plate and the second plate by the recesses with their tuft of bristles extended beyond the sides of the first plate and second plate.
