Abstract: It is possible to provide a highly reliable semiconductor device and a communication method in which communication can be performed between circuits with a large degree of freedom of clock frequency which can be set in each of the circuits, a decisive operation, and a small communication latency. The semiconductor device according to the present invention includes a first circuit that performs processing based on a first clock signal, the first clock signal having a frequency M/N times as large as a frequency of a second clock signal (N is a positive integer, and M is a positive integer larger than N); a second circuit that performs processing based on the second clock signal; and a communication timing control circuit that generates a communication timing signal to control a timing at which the first circuit performs communication with the second circuit.
Abstract: A belt-roll fuser stripping system has a stripping shoe and a stripping shim. The shim is support by a support member. The support member supports the shim to maintain a desired nip pressure profile, and reduce deformation and wear of the shim and belt-roll fuser components.

Abstract: Circuitry can be provided in a fixed logic device, or can be configured into a programmable integrated circuit device such as a programmable logic device (PLD) to perform vector-based matrix operations for matrices of arbitrary size, up to a predetermined maximum size. The circuitry may be used where input row vectors of a matrix are to be combined—e.g., by multiplication—with the same initial vector, which may be one of the rows. Column memories may be provided to hold the input matrix data, so that each row may be read by simultaneously accessing the same index in each column memory. In accordance with the invention, the number of column memories may be less than the actual number of columns so that multiple physical “row access” operations are used to access each logical row. A “circular latch” may be provided to hold the initial vector.
Abstract: A method, in one embodiment, can include allowing storage allocation of data of a file system within an object based storage system. Furthermore, the method can include determining if storage allocation usage for the file system is below a threshold. If the storage allocation usage for the file system is not below the threshold, a client is requested to flush its dirty data associated with the file system. After requesting a client flush, the method can include determining the storage allocation usage for the file system. In addition, the method can include determining periodically if the storage allocation usage has reached a quota. If the quota is reached, the quota is enforced for the data of the file system.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and a computer readable storage medium having computer readable instructions to carry out the steps of the method for anonymous access to a database. Each record of the database has different access control permissions (e.g. attributes, roles, or rights). The method allows users to access the database record while the database does not learn who queries a record. The database does not know which record is being queried: (i) the access control list of that record or (ii) whether a user's attempt to access a record had been successful. The user can only obtain a single record per query and only those records for which he has the correct permissions. The user does not learn any other information about the database structure and the access control lists other than whether he was granted access to the queried record, and if so, the content of the record.

Abstract: A problem inherent to radiographic images, which may occur when an independent component analysis technique is applied to energy subtraction carried out on radiographic images, is solved to achieve separation of image components to be separated with higher accuracy. As preprocessing before the independent component analysis, a spatial frequency band which contains the components to be separated is extracted, pixels of the radiographic images are classified into more than one subsets for each radiographic image based on a value of a predetermined parameter, and/or nonlinear pixel value conversion is applied to the radiographic images based on a value of the predetermined parameter. Alternatively, nonlinear independent component analysis is carried out according to a model using the predetermined parameter.
Abstract: A printing terminal 208P creates delivery result information regarding delivered content data and transmits the created delivery result information to a posting server 202. The posting server 202 receives the transmitted delivery result information, adds the received delivery result information to delivery record information stored in a memory, and notifies a sending terminal of at least part of the delivery record information. This arrangement enables low-cost and high-quality delivery of print contents.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and method for measuring the differential delay in a computer system having a disaster recovery secondary site. The device includes a transmitter for use at a primary site, the transmitter having a first laser and a second laser. The first laser is optically connected to an end of the transmission path and the second laser is optically connected to an end of the receive path. A receiver is located at the secondary site. The receiver has a first optical receiver optically connected to an end of the transmission path and a second optical receiver optically connected to an end of the receive path. The receiver includes a microprocessor to count the number of cycles between the receipt of light pulses simultaneously emitted from the first and second lasers. From this cycle count, the differential delay between the transmission and receive path is calculated.

Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a reverse flow annular combustor having a liner with opposing ends. One end includes apertures configured to receive compressed air, and an outlet is provided at the other end and is configured to connect to a turbine nozzle. A fuel injector extends through the liner at a base and axially between the apertures and the outlet. The fuel injector includes a housing extending from the base to a dome and provides an exterior surface surrounding an injector cavity. Abstract: A compressor for a turbine engine includes multiple compressor disks having rotor blades mounted about the circumference of each of the disks. A plurality of stator blades extend between the rotor blades of axially adjacent disks. A knife edge seal is supported and retained by retaining flanges extending from a rim on each disk, and contacts the stator blades to limit the recirculation of air within the compressor. A plurality of lock assemblies are spaced about the circumference of disk backbones formed in each disk, with a plurality of knife edge seals located between each lock assembly. When in the lock position the lock assemblies reduce the slack used for assembly of the final knife edge seal to prevent shifting and rotating during operation.
