Abstract: A method and system for adapting search results of a query to the information needs of the user submitting the query is provided. A search system analyzes click-through triplets indicating that a user submitted a query and that the user selected a document from the results of the query. To overcome the large size and sparseness of the click-through data, the search system when presented with an input triplet comprising a user, a query, and a document determines a probability that the user will find the input document important by smoothing the click-through triplets. The search system then orders documents of the result based on the probability of their importance to the input user.
Abstract: The present invention includes a computer-implemented method and an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP). The method and system allows a user to enable an electronic signature approval process for modification of data in a transaction. The method includes accessing a table that corresponds with the transaction and adding a signature field having a property sheet to the table. The method also includes defining a select property in the property sheet with a select parameter. The select property configured to provide approval of modified data in the transaction upon entry of a valid electronic signature.
Abstract: Multiple versions of data on different sets of machines allow a system to degrade gracefully even when experiencing excessive failures. When excessive failures cause the latest versions to be unavailable, the system becomes degraded, but still offers an old version if available. A most recent coherent set of the available older versions is found and provided. The degree of degradation increases gradually as the system experiences more and more failures. Graceful degradation is desirably complementary to fault tolerance.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to realize reduction in an area of an output stage driver in an interface circuit that switches between two transmission systems. The interface circuit has two driver circuits and a drive control circuit that can switch between two driving systems that are a voltage driving system and a current driving system. The two driver circuits are connected to a power supply potential via the drive control circuit. Two input signals and inverted logic signals of the input signals are inputted via a selection circuit. According to a control signal inputted into the drive control circuit, the interface circuit switches between the voltage-driving type single-ended transmission system and current driving type differential transmission system.
Abstract: A carrier frequency in a filtered received M-ary phase-shift keyed (MPSK) modulated signal having in-phase and quadrature components is detected by processing the filtered received signal to remove modulation components and thereby generate a test signal at the carrier frequency; processing the test signal to provide an amplitude spectrum of samples at different test frequencies; and processing the amplitude spectrum to detect the carrier frequency in accordance with the test frequency at which there is a test statistic of the highest magnitude. The magnitude of the test statistic is determined by processing a signal statistic in relation to a noise statistic. The signal statistic is the amplitude of the largest-amplitude sample. The filtered received signal is processed to provide approximate values of the modulus of the received signal and the phase of the received signal; and the approximate modulus and phase values are processed to generate the test signal.
Abstract: A system and method for coordinating delivery of components to manage solution delivery and installation to customers. When a customer order for components is received, a component tracking device is configured to be placed within one or more pre-designated areas of a customer site. Each component to be shipped to the customer site is tagged with a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag that is associated with the order. The tracking device is used to detect the presence of each component at the pre-designated areas within the customer site. An RFID reader in the tracking device detects the presence of a component by reading the RFID tag on the component. Data about the presence of each component is recorded. An installation team may be notified when the recorded data indicates that a number of components in the order have been detected within the pre-designated areas of the customer site.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and a data processing system that facilitates navigation through a directed graph for selection of sub-processes of a modified business process derived from a business process is provided. A bounding box is used for evaluating and selecting sequences of nodes representative of business sub-processes or services. The bounding box has a predefined depth for limiting the scope of the evaluation. The bounding box is shifted during the evaluation as sequences of nodes are selected. Additionally, state data is maintained such that a sense response model may be employed to detect and account for changes to the environment in previously evaluated services. By maintaining state data, a transition to a previously evaluated sub-process may be implemented to account for significant changes in the environment.
