Patent number: 7569131Abstract: A method for multi-layer electrodeposition in a single bath is also provided. A substrate is immersed in a bath. An electrodeposition operation is initiated for depositing a first layer of material on the substrate. The electrodeposition operation includes agitating the bath and applying current pulses. The electrodeposition operation is later altered for depositing a second layer of material on the first layer, where the second layer is of a different composition than the first layer. In the altered mode, the current density is changed for altering a composition of material deposited on the substrate, the duration and/or frequency of the current pulses are altered, and the bath is agitated at a different rate of agitation.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2002Date of Patent: August 4, 2009Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: April Dawn Hixon-Goldsmith, Matthew Walter Last, Murali Ramasubramanian, Rolf Beatus Schaefer

Patent number: 7570552Abstract: During recording with an optical disk apparatus, an objective lens is moved toward the inner circumference and outer circumference of an optical disk in the radial direction thereof and also moved upward and downward, and the quantity of reflected light is measured at that time. Quantities of reflected light are determined taking advantage of the characteristic of laser heat that it is most efficiently used to provide the smallest quantity of reflected light when the relationship between the optical disk surface and the objective lens is closest to perpendicularity and when they are at a distance at which the point in focus is most closely approached. An optimum tilt value and focus position are learned from the result of the determination to allow operations to be performed at the optimum tilt and the optimum position of the point in focus.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2005Date of Patent: August 4, 2009Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Satoshi Iwasaki, Shinji Matsumoto, Hideyuki Fujishima

Patent number: 7570036Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-phase pulse width modulated voltage regulator and method in which transient voltage excursions or deviations that exceed the load line voltage by more than a pre-determined amount are detected by an ATR circuit and a correction signal is applied. The correction signal is in the form of asynchronous pulses and the number of such pulses is a function of the magnitude of the voltage excursion as determined by the number of thresholds that are exceeded. Also disclosed is an adaptive voltage positioning (AVP) circuit and method for early detection of a transient event by sensing voltage changes at the load and adjusting the target voltage with pre-determined current values prior to the time that ATR event changes in the current at the load are detected.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2004Date of Patent: August 4, 2009Assignee: Primarion CorporationInventors: Benjamin Tang, Robert T. Patent number: 7571187Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided for defining interesting portions of a workflow of a business or other type of process. Using a tracking profile editor, a portion of a given workflow is selected and associated with a named process part. Items of payload data to be used in reports are selected from a message schema associated with the given workflow. A profile is generated based on the given workflow and the selected items of payload data. A tracking profile compiler receives the created tracking profile and generates a star schema, a flattened view and OLAP cube based on the tracking profile. An interceptor extracts monitored workflow events and stores event information to a tracking stream, based on the tracking profile. A tracking service extracts information pertaining to the monitored events from the tracking stream and stores the information in the queryable database. Patent number: 7567672Abstract: In a cryptographic communication system, a prover is connected through a channel to a verifier. Elements a, b, c, d of a finite group are used as a public key and a parameter “x” as a private key, where “x” is a discrete logarithm of “b” to base “a”. The prover calculates e=a?b?, g=c?d? and h=c?d? (where ?=?+x(???) and ?, ? and ? are random values), and transmits e, g, h to the verifier, and shows that relations a??b??=e, c??d??=g, a??b??=e, and c??d??=h are established without transmitting random values ??, b?, ??, ??. The verifier determines whether the prover is capable of establishing such relations using the public key and e, g and h. The prover is said to establish a proof that “x” is not equal to discrete logarithm of “d” to base “c” only if the verifier simultaneously determines that the relations are established and g is not equal to h.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2004Date of Patent: July 28, 2009Assignee: NEC CorporationInventor: Jun Furukawa
