  • Publication number: 20090103388
Abstract: Dividing memory used for storing histogram data into multiple banks is disclosed to allow for phased RMW cycles. Although the same address lines are provided to each bank, address control logic ensures that each successive RMW cycle is handled by a different bank, so that another RMW cycle can be started in one bank while the previous RMW cycle is still being performed in another bank. By staggering or phasing the starts of the RMW cycles in a wraparound fashion, each histogram bin is spread out over multiple banks, but testing can proceed faster than if only a single bank was used. After the histogram data has been captured, the areas of memory in each bank associated with a particular bin can be added together to compute the total count for that bin.

  • Publication number: 20090102487
Abstract: A method for testing a printed circuit board to determining the dielectric loss associated with the circuit board material relative to a standard. Dielectric losses in the material generate heat when a high frequency electronic signal, such as a microwave frequency signal, is communicated through a microstrip that is embedded within the printed circuit board. The temperature or spectrum at the surface of printed circuit board is measured and compared against the temperature or spectrum of the standard to determine whether the material under test is acceptable. While various temperature measurement devices may be used, the temperature is preferably measured without contacting the surface, such as using an infrared radiation probe.

  • Publication number: 20090102960
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus includes an optical system which forms an image of a shooting subject. A driving section drives the optical system. A focus operation section transmits a driving direction and a driving amount of the optical system on the basis of a manual operation. An image pickup element converts the image of the shooting subject formed by the optical system into a video signal. An evaluation section evaluates a focus condition of at least one area within a photographing field on the basis of the video signal from the image pickup element. An autofocus adjustment section selects an area which is determined to be focused as a result of the evaluation of the focus condition and drives the optical system to a position corresponding to the area determined to be focused.

  • Publication number: 20090100248
Abstract: A lower system structure reports performance information to an upper system structure. When detecting performance deterioration of the system structure on the basis of the reported performance information, the upper system structure optimizes resource redistribution of the system structure that the upper system structure manages. If the performance is improved by the optimization in the managed system structure, the optimization results is applied to the resource control of the lower system structure, and the lower system structure redistributes the resources according to the resource control. If the performance is not improved by the optimization, the lower system structure reports the performance information to the upper system structure, which optimizes the resource redistribution.

  • Patent number: 7517736
Abstract: Methods are provided that enable the ability to use a less aggressive liner processes, while producing structures known to give a desired high stress migration and electro-migration reliability. The present invention circumvents the issue of sputter damage of low k (on the order of 3.2 or less) dielectric by creating the via “anchors” (interlocked and interpenetrated vias) through chemical means. This allows the elimination or significant reduction of the sputter-etching process used to create the via penetration (“drilling, gouging”) into the line below in the barrier/seed metallization step. The present invention achieves the above, while maintaining a reliable copper fill and device structure.
