Abstract: The invention involves a childproof jar that suitable for medicinal items such as tablets, medication or other consumables that may be desirably restricted from children. The childproof mechanism that restricts access to the contents of the jar may employ a childproof cap comprising an outer cap and an inner cap that is operable by applying a force along the rotational axis of the cap—or by pressing down on the cap and twisting or rotating the cap. Typically, the jar is treated or coated with a uv-treatment or coating that limits or prevents light from reaching the contents of the jar.
