Abstract: The present invention relates to a delivery system based on photosensitive acetal or ketal compounds capable of liberating upon exposure to light an active volatile carbonyl compound in a controlled manner from a surface into the surrounding. The delivery system can be used to release active substances such as flavors, fragrances, malodor counteractants, insect attractants or insect repellents. The invention also relates to the use of said acetal or ketal compounds in perfumery, as well as in perfuming compositions or perfumed consumer articles.
Abstract: A 90° hybrid inductive-capacitive coupling stage includes two first stage terminals capable of forming two stage inputs or two stage outputs and two second stage terminals capable of respectively forming two stage outputs or two stage inputs. The coupling stage is advantageously modular having a first stage axis of symmetry and a second stage axis of symmetry orthogonal to each other with neighboring inductive metal tracks being overlaid in at least one crossing region to form both an inductive circuit and a capacitive circuit. The metal tracks are coupled to the first stage terminals and to the second stage terminals such that the two first stage terminals are situated on one side of the first stage axis of symmetry and the two second stage terminals are situated on the other side of the first stage axis of symmetry.

Abstract: A silicon on insulator substrate includes a semiconductor bulk handle wafer, an insulating layer on said semiconductor bulk handle wafer and a semiconductor film on said insulating layer. An opening extends completely through the semiconductor film and insulating layer to expose a surface of the semiconductor bulk handle wafer. Epitaxial material fills the opening and extends on said semiconductor film, with the epitaxial material and semiconductor film forming a thick semiconductor film. A trench isolation surrounds a region of the thick semiconductor film to define an electrical contact made to the semiconductor bulk handle wafer through the opening.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods of modelling a subsurface region. One method comprises defining a plurality of variables for describing said subsurface region, each variable having a corresponding, domain set neighbourhood set, and conflict set. The conflict set comprises conflict variables, which are previously assigned variable which reduces the domain set of its corresponding variable. The method comprises further sequentially performing for each variable: a) selecting an unassigned variable; b) assigning a value to the selected variable from its domain set; c) assessing whether a constraint is satisfied. The selected variable's corresponding conflict set is updated to include any previously assigned variables comprised within the selected variable's corresponding neighbourhood set when said constraint is assessed not to be satisfied at step c). Another method comprises foreseeing dead end variables before they are simulated.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for making a core-composite shell microcapsule slurry for the delivery of hydrophobic active ingredients such as fragrance components of perfume oils. The method includes forming an outer shell by coacervation surrounding an internal phase which contains the hydrophobic active ingredient; and forming an inner shell by interfacial polymerization at the interface between the internal phase and the outer shell. The internal phase contains the hydrophobic active ingredient. The microcapsules are typically incorporated in a consumer product wherein the composite shell prevents the hydrophobic active ingredient from release until desired, generally during use of the consumer product.
Abstract: Surgical robot systems for remote manipulation having robotic telemanipulators are provided. The surgical robot systems are well adapted for use by the surgeon, seamlessly integratable into the operation room, allow for a surgeon to work between the robot and the patient throughout a surgery in a sterile manner, are relatively low cost, and/or permit integrated laparoscopy.
