  • Patent number: 9823462
Abstract: Instead of using a clear or a semi-transparent notch within an electrowetting display, a colored notch that is the same color of the pixel region extends from one of the pixel walls toward an opposing pixel wall of the pixel region. The colored notches follow a non-flipped arrangement within each of the pixel regions. For example, each colored notch is adjacent to the same respective pixel wall for a pixel region. In other configurations, the colored notches follow a flipped arrangement within each of the pixel regions. For example, a colored notch of one pixel region and a colored notch of another pixel region are adjacent to the same pixel wall (on opposing sides). Instead of including a separate white sub pixel for each pixel, each pixel region is at least partially covered by a white color filter and a color filter that is the color of the pixel.

  • Patent number: 9823981
Abstract: Techniques for backup and restore of optimized data streams are described. A chunk store includes each optimized data stream as a plurality of chunks including at least one data chunk and corresponding optimized stream metadata. The chunk store includes data chunks in a deduplicated manner. Optimized data streams stored in the chunk store are identified for backup. At least a portion of the chunk store is stored in backup storage according to an optimized backup technique, an un-optimized backup technique, an item level backup technique, or a data chunk identifier backup technique. Optimized data streams stored in the backup storage may be restored. A file reconstructor includes a callback module that generates calls to a restore application to request optimized stream metadata and any referenced data chunks from the backup storage. The file reconstructor reconstructs the data streams from the referenced data chunks.

  • Patent number: 9825141
Abstract: A three dimensional monolithic LDMOS transistor implements a drain structure vertically disposed above a level of the structure that includes a drain connection of the transistor. Displacing the drain structure vertically, out of the plane or level of the gate and source/drain connections, creates a three dimensional structure for the transistor. One result is that the transistor consumes far less lateral area on the substrate. The reduction in lateral area in turn provides benefits such as allowing transistors to be more densely arranged on the substrate and allowing additional devices of other types to be formed on the substrate.

  • Patent number: 9824609
Abstract: A system assesses the susceptibility of an electronic device user to a cybersecurity threat by identifying information relating to the user of an electronic device, selecting a mock attack, and causing the mock attack to be deployed to the user so that the user receives the mock attack in the user's regular context of use of the electronic device. When a sensor detects a user action that the user has interacted with the electronic device in response to the mock attack, the system will record the sensed user action and use the sensed user action to determine the susceptibility of the user to a cybersecurity threat. In some embodiments, the lack of user action in response to a mock attack also may be used to determine the user's susceptibility to a cybersecurity threat.

  • Patent number: 9825846
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for dynamically routing packets using multi-flow and multi-path multiplexing connections. A first computing device and second computing device communicate via a plurality of data flows, which may be routed across various network paths. Each flow is defined by a set of network addresses, a set of ports, and a protocol specification, such as UDP. The second device sends information to the first device regarding the various data flows. The first device may send probing packets to facilitate collecting data flow information. Information may include latency, packet loss, and other values. Based on the information received, the first device may select or prioritize data flows to mitigate congestion, and address performance criteria. The first device may also transmit information regarding selected data flows to other devices, allowing the other devices to utilize a selected data flow even if they lack multiplexing capability.
