  • Patent number: 9785564
Abstract: A hybrid memory system includes a primary memory comprising a host memory space arranged as memory sectors corresponding to host logical block addresses (host LBAs). A secondary memory is implemented as a cache for the primary host memory. A hybrid controller is configured directly map the clusters of host LBAs to clusters of secondary memory. The secondary memory clusters correspond to a memory space of the cache. Mapping of the host LBA secondary memory clusters is fully associative such that any host LBA cluster can be mapped to any secondary memory cluster.

  • Patent number: 9787432
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method, a system, and an apparatus for data communication in an optical network system. A new encoding scheme is implemented in the following manner: performing 32-bit to 34-bit encoding on a data stream on which 8-bit/10-bit decoding has been performed, performing forward error correction encoding on the data stream on which the 32-bit to 34-bit encoding has been performed, and sending the encoded data stream; or performing forward error correction decoding on a received data stream, and performing 32-bit to 34-bit decoding on the data stream on which the forward error correction decoding has been performed. In this way, a bandwidth resource of a line is saved; line monitoring can be implemented without interrupting a service, which is easy to implement and greatly improves various types of performance of the system.

  • Patent number: 9784780
Abstract: A battery simulator can operate to provide different outputs. These outputs provide different characteristics related to how a device under test operates. In an example, a controller such as an electronic control module (ECM) or battery energy control module (BECM) can be tested. The battery simulator may provide different modes, e.g., a high current mode or a voltage change over time mode. A traction battery simulator may include a controller, analog output circuitry being controlled by the controller to output test current and test voltage, and switching circuitry connected to the analog output circuitry that has a first state and a second state. The first state is to provide an increased change in voltage over change in time relative to the second state. The second state is to provide an increased capacitance over the first state.

  • Patent number: 9783183
Abstract: A vehicle includes an engine, a motor selectively coupled to the engine, a transmission selectively coupled to the motor, and a controller. The motor is able to operate as a motor (to provide torque to the transmission) and a generator (to charge a battery). In one mode, the controller can command the engine to both propel the vehicle and provide torque to the motor to charge the battery. The controller estimates the maximum available engine torque in the current gear and maintains the vehicle in the current gear of the transmission. And, the controller commands the motor to charge the battery by a magnitude based on the difference between driver demanded torque and an estimated maximum available engine torque in a current gear of the transmission. This allows the engine to operate at (or near) its maximum torque output to fulfill driver demands and charge the battery while inhibiting downshifting.
