  • Patent number: 9568197
Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a combustor having a fuel nozzle assembly for delivering fuel to a combustion chamber. A sensor is at least partially housed within the fuel nozzle assembly for sensing a parameter associated with the delivery of fuel to the combustion chamber. In one example, the sensor is an optical sensor coupled to an optical decoder for ascertaining the parameter. A trim valve is in communication with the fuel nozzle assembly. A controller is in communication with the sensor and is programmed to actuate the trim valve to adjust the amount of fuel delivered through the fuel nozzle assembly in response to the parameter. In one example, an end of the optical sensor is arranged near a fuel exit of the fuel nozzle assembly. The controller actuates the trim valve for the fuel nozzle assembly to achieve a desired air/fuel ratio and/or balance the fuel delivery of the fuel nozzle assembly relative to another fuel nozzle assembly within the gas turbine engine's combustor system.

  • Patent number: 9572165
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for discerning patterns in the “goodness” or “badness” of time-frequency slots to allow predictive allocation of spectral resources that may be appropriate for a wireless user. According to some examples, information on device location, time slots, sub-carrier(s) allotted for each time slot, and quality indicators may be received from mobile devices. The time slots may be grouped by location to form analysis intervals. A time-frequency vector may then be identified for each analysis interval and a unit of geographic grid. A “goodness” indicator may be computed for each time-frequency vector. Clusters of time-frequency vectors may be categorized for each analysis interval and associated unit of geographic grid such that mobile devices can be assigned “good” clusters through sub-carrier allocation.

  • Patent number: 9569836
Abstract: Cases in which defects are analyzed in a manufacturing process stage in which a pattern is not formed or in a manufacturing process in which a pattern formed on a lower layer does not appear in the captured image are increasing. However, in these cases, there is a problem of not being able to synthesize a favorable reference image and failing to detect a defect when a periodic pattern cannot be recognized in the pattern. In the present invention, a defect occupation rate, which is the percentage of an image being inspected occupied by a defect region, is found, it is determined whether the defect occupation rate is higher or lower than a threshold, and, in accordance with the determination results, it is determined whether to create, as the reference image, an image comprising pixels having the average luminance value of the luminance values of a plurality of pixels contained in the image being inspected.
