Patent number: 4646605Abstract: A precision woodworking saw having a variable speed drive mechanism which drives a saw blade carried on a reciprocating C arm. An electric motor has a drive shaft carrying a split drive pulley which drives a split driven pulley through a V-belt. The driven pulley is mounted on a driven shaft which reciprocates the C arm through an eccentric drive arm. The pulley sections of the split pulleys are movable toward and away from one another to vary the pitch of each pulley and its effective diameter. An adjustment knob can be turned to adjust both pulleys simultaneously to vary the speed ratio between the driven shaft and drive shaft as desired to control the speed at which the saw blade is driven.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 1985Date of Patent: March 3, 1987Assignee: R. Patent number: 4539732Abstract: A double lock safety hook adapted to a single lock hook permitting a belt connection, such as a fall protection device, window washer's harness, and the like, to be retained within a hook throat. A snap keeper is engageable with the latch member to lock the latch member with the latch member abutting the hook nose so that accidental release of the belt connection is reduced. The snap keeper is mounted along and in juxtaposition to the shank of the single lock hook and is easily installed on equipment without the necessity of drilling holes in the hook body. A means for positioning the keeper along the shank is also provided for moving the keeper between its first and second positions.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 1984Date of Patent: September 10, 1985Assignee: D B Industries, Inc.Inventor: James T. Patent number: 4538702Abstract: A shock absorber as designed for use in fall protection systems and may be incorporated integrally with either a belt or lanyard or may be used as a separate component in conjunction with conventional belts and lanyards. A shock absorbing mechanism of the invention utilizes a piercing member having smooth edges which pierce a piece of webbing material. When force is applied to opposite ends of the shock absorber, the piercing member stretches and breaks latitudinal fibers of the webbing material. This allows near complete retention of the strength of the longitudinal fibers as those fibers are not damaged during the absorbing operation.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 1983Date of Patent: September 3, 1985Assignee: D B Industries, Inc.Inventor: J. Patent number: 4492354Abstract: A collapsible stand for an upright vertical support is the subject of this invention. A U-shaped bracket holds a roller and is mounted on a telescoping stanchion by use of a set screw in the collar of the bracket. The stanchion is in turn supported by a stand, the base portion of which comprises three legs which are bolted to two horizontal plates positioned one above the other. The lower plate is larger than the upper plate and thereby determines the angle of disposition of the legs. The stand is collapsible by disengaging the legs from the plates and dismounting the bracket and roller assembly from the stanchion.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 1983Date of Patent: January 8, 1985Assignee: R. Patent number: 4480776Abstract: A nylon fabric holster for hand guns having strap-like tabs secured together by hook and loop fasteners for holding the hand gun in the holster. The tabs may be separated by running the thumb between the hook and loop fasteners. However, the hammer spur associated with the hand gun is pressed against the inner surfaces of the tabs upon forcible withdrawal of the hand gun from the holster to prevent the tabs from separating. The tab construction thus prevents the hand gun from being forcibly removed from the holster when the tabs are secured together.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 1983Date of Patent: November 6, 1984Assignee: A & B Industries, Inc.Inventor: John H. Atkins, Sr.
