  • Patent number: 5067741
Abstract: The invention relates to the control of the steering of the wheels of a dolly interposed between a tractor and a semi-trailer. The bars controlling the steering of the wheels of the dolly are actuated by a power system controlled from a pilot stage detecting the steering movement of the wheels of the tractor. The pilot stage comprises a pilot link freely rotating on a shaft and driven in rotation by a transmission connected to the steering lever of the wheels of the tractor; the rotation of the pilot link selectively controls a hydraulic valve which actuates a double-acting actuator connected to a link controlling the steering bars.

  • Patent number: 4557177
Abstract: An electromechanical actuator system for use in an aircraft in high frequency electromagnetic environments is disclosed. The system includes an electromechanical switch which responds to a control signal to actuate a device on the airplane. A pair of capacitors is installed in the control signal circuit and the indicator light circuit of the switch within a switch housing. These capacitors cooperate to suppress electromagnetic radiation and voltage transients emitted by the switch. A low pass filter line cable is attached at one end to the switch and at its other end to the source of the control signal and other devices on the aircraft. The individual conductors of this cable are electrically insulated, and these insulated conductors are encased in an electrical shield which is also electrically insulated. To protect the system from high frequency electromagnetic interference, this cable is over 12 inches long, and substantially the entire periphery of the shield is grounded at both ends of the cable.

  • Patent number: 4328524
Abstract: A cable head includes a plurality of modular connection units, the insulating base of which bears rear and front connection members, and one earthing component. The cable head includes, in addition for each connection unit, at least one protection module which can be plugged into the base from the front, the module comprising a body of insulating material exhibiting two side-housings intended to each receive one lightning arrester, and of two pairs of wrap-around contact components arranged on the body and effecting on the one hand the contact between the front and rear connection members arranged face to face and on the other hand the contact with earth, each pair of contact components associated with a lightning arrester ensuring both the retention of the lightning arrester in its housing and reinforcement of the clamping onto the tails of the lightning arrester upon plugging in the module.
