    Abstract: In a cooling system structure for a vehicular water-cooled internal combustion engine with a cylinder section and a cylinder body and a cylinder head. The cooling system structure having water jackets formed in the cylinder body and the cylinder head, respectively, with a radiator disposed forwardly of the engine main unit. A water pump performs forced circulation of coolant through the radiator and the water jackets, to permit routing of pipes with enhanced appearance. Water jackets are formed, respectively, in a cylinder body and a cylinder head such that coolant flows through the cylinder body and the cylinder head independently of each other. A thermostat is mounted on a front wall surface of a cylinder section and is capable of selecting a condition in which the water jackets directly communicate with each other or a condition in which the water jackets communicate with each other via a radiator.

    Abstract: There is provided a method and an apparatus for preparing graphite oxide. In accordance with the present disclosure, when an oxidizer is added by stages into a sequencing batch oxidizer mixer connected in multiple stages at a constantly low temperature, the oxidizer is mixed therein while suppressing an oxidation reaction. During an oxidation reaction of graphite, in a risky range of overheating and explosion, a tube type reactor equipped within a heat exchanger is used to accurately control a local temperature and the oxidizer can permeate between layers of the graphite with increased efficiency under ultrasonication. In an additional reaction range out of the risky range, a continuous stirred tank reactor is used to mature the oxidation reaction, so that a risk of explosion during manufacturing of graphite oxide can be reduced and a great amount of graphite oxide can be mass-produced economically.

    Abstract: When an intermediate lock by an intermediate lock mechanism is released, one of two lock keys, which restricts a shift in a direction opposite to a direction that valve timing of an intake valve has been controlled by controlling the valve timing of the intake valve to a phase-advance side with respect to an intermediate lock position, is pulled out of an engaging recessed portion. Thereafter, the other of the two lock keys is pulled out of an engaging recessed portion by controlling the valve timing of the intake valve to a phase-retard side with respect to the intermediate lock position. Therefore, the intermediate lock by the intermediate lock mechanism can be released, while avoiding the lock keys from being pushed against the respective engaging recessed portions.

    Abstract: A mixture containing methyldichlorosilane, tetrachlorosilane, and trichlorosilane is distilled to fractionate a fraction with a higher content of methyldichlorosilane than the mixture before distillation. Subsequently, the fraction thus fractionated is heated to disproportionate chlorine between methyldichlorosilane and tetrachlorosilane to disproportionate methyldichlorosilane into methyltrichlorosilane. Subsequently, the fraction after disproportionation containing methyltrichlorosilane is purified by distillation to separate high-purity trichlorosilane. Having a close boiling point to that of trichlorosilane (32° C.), which is a target product to be purified by distillation, removal of methyldichlorosilane (boiling point of 41° C.) has been difficult. The present invention removes methyldichlorosilane more easily by converting it into methyltrichlorosilane (boiling point of 66° C.) through disproportionation of chlorine between methyldichlorosilane and tetrachlorosilane.
