Abstract: An image generating method is provided. The method includes performing a rearrangement process and an interpolation process on fan beam projection data, the fan beam projection data acquired by a scan that includes rotating a radiation source and a detector having a plurality of detecting elements arranged in a channel direction, wherein the interpolation process generates equally-spaced parallel beam projection data in which channel-direction intervals are equal therebetween, and wherein the interpolation process is performed with respect to a plurality of view directions. The method further includes performing a back-projection process on the equally-spaced parallel beam projection data to thereby reconstruct an image, wherein the channel-direction intervals between the equally-spaced parallel beam projection data are smaller than a reference interval obtained by dividing an interval between the detecting elements in the channel direction by a projection enlargement rate.
Abstract: An adaptable network security system includes trust mediator agents that are coupled to each network component. Trust mediator agents continuously detect changes in the security characteristics of the network and communicate the detected security characteristics to a trust mediator. Based on the security characteristics received from the trust mediator agents, the trust mediator adjusts security safeguards to maintain an acceptable level of security. Trust mediator also uses predetermined rules in determining whether to adjust security safeguards. Despite inevitable changes in security characteristics, an acceptable level of security and efficient network operation are achieved without subjecting users of the network to over burdensome security safeguards.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a group III nitride crystal on a seed crystal in a holding vessel holding therein a melt containing a group III metal, an alkali metal and nitrogen. The manufacturing method comprises the steps of causing the seed crystal to make a contact with the melt, setting an environment of the seed crystal to a first state offset from a crystal growth condition while in a state in which said seed crystal is in contact with the melt, increasing a nitrogen concentration in the melt, and setting the environment of the seed crystal to a second state suitable for crystal growth when the nitrogen concentration of the melt has reached a concentration suitable for growing the seed crystal.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a location service are disclosed. The method is performed at a mobile device having one or more processors and memory for storing programs to be executed by the one or more processors. The method includes storing respective geographic positions for a set of points of interest (POIs). The method includes determining a current location and a current viewing direction of a user while storing the respective geographic positions of the set of POIs. The method also includes identifying, based on the stored geographic positions and the current location and viewing direction of the user, a subset of POIs within a current field of view associated with the user from the set of POIs. The method further includes mapping the current location of the user and the respective geographic positions of the subset of POIs onto a user interface displayed on the mobile device.

Abstract: In solving linear systems of billions of equations resulting from reservoir simulator pressure equations for giant reservoirs organized into fine-grid models, a multi-level methodology acquires a fast and coarser grid solution to be used as a more accurate initial estimate for the fine grid problem. Solver iterations performed on the coarser grid in reduced processing time generate a better initial estimate, resulting in fewer of the more expensive iterations at the fine-grid level.
Abstract: A system for operating a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission and a vehicle road speed limiter (RSL) which is programmable to limit the maximum vehicle speed for a given transmission gear includes at least on controller. The at least one controller is operable, when the speed limiter (RSL) is active, to determine if the vehicle is operating in a shuttle shifting range based on the current status of preselected operating parameters. When the vehicle is operating in a shuttle shifting range, the at least one controller is operable to control transmission operation to prevent shifting under conditions where shifting would otherwise normally occur.

Abstract: A system of an extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUVL) is disclosed. The system includes an extreme ultraviolet (EUV) mask with three states. A reflection coefficient is r1, r2 and r3, respectively, wherein r3 is close to (r1+r2)/2. The system also includes a nearly on-axis illumination (ONI) with partial coherence ? less than 0.3 to expose the EUV mask to produce diffracted light and non-diffracted light, removing most of the non-diffracted light, and collecting and directing the diffracted light and the not removed non-diffracted light by a projection optics box (POB) to expose a target.
