Abstract: In one embodiment, a data set is received at a network service element of a network service, a location record for that data set is generated, and the location record is sent to a location registry within the network service to monitored locations of that data set within a network service. The network service element is operatively coupled to a communications link. The location record is generated based on a portion of the data set and a cryptographic key associated with the network service element. The location record uniquely identifies the presence of the data set at the network service element.

Abstract: A mobile serving cart with adjustable hinges that allows for the production inconsistencies associated with rotational molding. The cart comprises a plurality of door assemblies, each door assembly comprising at least two hinge assemblies, at least one hinge assembly being disposed at the upper portion of the door assembly, and at least one other hinge assembly being disposed at the lower portion of the door assembly. Each hinge assembly comprises at least two door bolts, at least one cart bolt, and a pivot rod. The cart rod is disposed between the at least two door bolts at an orientation that is orthogonal to the at least two door bolts. The hinge assemblies provide a means for the rotationally molded door assemblies and side walls of the cart to be tightly or snuggly coupled together despite the manufacturing inconsistencies inherent to the rotational molding process.

Abstract: Disclosed is a communication apparatus including an image input unit that includes an image input member that inputs an image of an object and a retaining member that retains the image input member at its one edge; an enclosure to which a concave portion is formed at its one side surface; a uniaxial hinge device that includes a first hinge member and a second hinge member rotatably connected with each other and capable of rotating around a first axial line with respect to each other, the first hinge member being connected to the enclosure and the second hinge member being connected to the other edge of the retaining member. The image input unit is rotated via the uniaxial hinge device around the first axial line with respect to the enclosure between a housing position and a protruding position.
Abstract: An image forming system and methods are disclosed. The methods include detecting an ambient temperature of an image forming system by a first thermal sense resistor disposed in a first printhead to obtain a first detected ambient temperature, detecting the ambient temperature of the image forming system by a second thermal sense resistor disposed in a second printhead to obtain a second detected ambient temperature, and determining a temperature difference between the first detected ambient temperature and the second detected ambient temperature of the image forming system by a temperature variation module.

Abstract: A substrate for biochips, which does not induce autofluorescence, which can immobilize a biologically relevant substance(s) easily, which can prevent the undesirable spread of a liquid spot which is added dropwise on the biochips when using the biochips, in which the adhesion between a carbon-containing layer and an aluminum material is high, and which can be produced at lower cost than the known substrate for biochips; a method for producing the substrate; and a biochip including the substrate are disclosed. The substrate for biochips comprises a carbon-coated aluminum material, wherein the carbon-coated aluminum material comprises an aluminum material and a carbon-containing layer formed on at least one surface of the aluminum material, and further comprises an interposing layer which is formed between the aluminum material and the carbon-containing layer, and which interposing layer contains aluminum element and carbon element.

Abstract: A method includes coining solder balls of a bottom package, wherein top surfaces of the solder balls are flattened after the step of coining. The solder balls are molded in a molding material. The top surfaces of the solder balls are through trenches in the molding material.
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for electrolyzing a source liquid in an electrolytic device. The electrolytic device includes a first cathode in a cathode chamber; and an anode and a second, auxiliary cathode in an anode chamber. The anode chamber and cathode chamber are separated by a barrier, and the anode and the auxiliary cathode are separated by a gap that lacks a barrier. While electrolyzing the source liquid with the electrolytic device, a level of current applied to the auxiliary cathode is adjusted in response to pH of an anolyte liquid produced from the source liquid by the anode chamber to maintain the pH within a desired range.
Abstract: An image analyzer (120) aggregates image samples (140) into a cluster (170) based on the image samples (140) being classified from a subset of image metrics applied to a reference sample (130). The image analyzer (120) generates an image quality output (150) by analyzing a distance (180) from the cluster (180) relative to another cluster.

Abstract: A method for uniformly erasing an image recorded on a thermo-reversible recording medium. The image erasing apparatus includes an LD array, which emits a laser light whose cross section has a line shape; optics which include at least one cylindrical lens which converts, into a converging light which converges in a width direction, a line-shaped laser light which is emitted from the LD array and emits the converging light; and a mono-axial galvano mirror which deflects the laser light emitted from the optics in the width direction to scan the deflected laser light onto the thermo-reversible recording medium.
Abstract: A safety brake device for a theatre hoist to prevent the uncontrolled release of a load that is suspended above or below people includes an overrunning clutch and a torque disc. The torque disc only rotates with the overrunning clutch when the load is lowered, but must overcome friction forces applied to the surface of the torque disc to do so. The friction forces are constantly applied to the torque disc by maintaining friction material in contact with the torque disc. The friction material is a non-asbestos, non-metallic composite saturated with a lubricant.
