Abstract: A system is provided that monitors a first and second virtual server on a first physical server containing a physical processor, monitors physical processor usage wherein capacity is allocated to a first entitlement comprising a first percentage of the capacity guaranteed to the first virtual server, to a second entitlement comprising a second percentage guaranteed to the second virtual server, and to a third percentage one of unallocated and partially and totally allocated to a virtual server based on need, and wherein the percentages total to one hundred percent. The system monitors usage of a first virtual processor associated with the first virtual server, receives a request for first virtual processor utilization by percentage, determines utilization comprising first virtual processor usage divided by a first allocated processing capacity comprising the first entitlement and a portion of the third percentage currently allocated to the first virtual server, and reports the utilization.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for detecting a composition of an audience of an information presenting device are disclosed. A disclosed example method includes maintaining a first count of a number of people detected in an environment based on image data representative of the environment; when the image data is indicative of a change in the number of people detected in the environment, presenting a request for identity information; determining if the people were compliant in providing the identity information based on a difference between the number of people appearing in the image data and a second number of received identity responses; and when the people were non-compliant in providing the identity information, increasing a second count maintained for the environment indicative of unidentified people in the room.

Abstract: The invention pertains to a method for preparing a composite printing form from a single precursor that is capable of forming a relief and a carrier. The single precursor can be a single photosensitive element or a single laser-engravable print element having a reinforced elastomeric layer. The single precursor has a size that is at least 70% of a size of the carrier. The single precursor is located on the carrier by approximately positioning the precursor on the carrier that has no registration markings. Precise registration of the single precursor is achieved by using digital information generated from a computer to create the registered image on the composite form. The method is particularly suited for preparing composite printing forms for relief printing, and in particular for preparing composite printing forms for flexographic printing of corrugated substrates.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dendritic comb-shaped polymer thickening agent and preparation and application thereof; it is a copolymer obtained by copolymerization of monomer (A) and monomer (B). Monomer (A) is one or more water-soluble unsaturated monomers with olefin chain, and monomer (B) is at least one monomer with the following general structure: wherein R1, R2 is selected from H or C1˜C12 alkyl group, respectively; R3, R4, R5 is selected from H or C1˜C8 alkyl group, C1˜C8 alkylaryl group, C1˜C8 alkyl ether or C1˜C8 alkyl ester group, respectively; A? is selected from COO? or OH. The content of the monomer (A) is 70˜99.99% of the total mass of the monomer (A) and the monomer (B), and the content of monomer (B) is 0.01˜30% of the total mass of the monomer (A) and the monomer (B). The viscosity of the polymer solution with the present polymer is 30% higher than that with common polyacrylamide and it is used in polymer flooding for oil reservoir with permeability lower than 400 mD in oilfields.

The image bearing member defines an image bearing surface on which a toner image is created. The pair of opposed transfer members is disposed opposite each other via the image bearing member to form a transfer nip therebetween through which a recording medium is passed. One of the transfer members defines a first electrode to which a first electrical bias is applied. The media separator defines a second electrode downstream from the transfer nip to which a second electrical bias is applied. The electrical bias applicator includes a power supply connectable with each of the first and second electrodes to supply the first electrical bias to the first electrode and the second electrical bias to the second electrode.
Abstract: A system and a method for protecting semiconductor wafers is disclosed. A preferred embodiment comprises a carrier with a central region and an exterior region. The exterior region preferably has a thickness that is greater than the central region, to form a cavity in the carrier. An adhesive is preferably placed into the cavity, and a semiconductor wafer is placed onto the adhesive. The edges of the semiconductor wafer are protected by the raised exterior region as well as the displaced adhesive that at least partially fills the area between the semiconductor wafer and the exterior region of the carrier.

Abstract: A process for upgrading hydrocarbon oil feedstreams employs a solid adsorption material to lower sulfur and nitrogen content by contacting the hydrocarbon oil, with a solid adsorbents in a mixing vessel; passing the slurry to a membrane separation zone to separate the solid adsorption material with the adsorbed sulfur and nitrogen compounds from the treated oil; recovering the upgraded hydrocarbon product having a significantly reduced nitrogen and sulfur content as the membrane permeate; mixing the solid adsorbent material with aromatic solvent to remove and stabilize the sulfur and nitrogen compounds; transferring the solvent mixture to a fractionation tower to recover the solvent, which can be recycled for use in the process; and recovering the hydrocarbons that are rich in sulfur and nitrogen for processing in a relatively small high-pressure hydrotreating unit or transferring them to a fuel oil pool for blending.
