  • Patent number: 8384738
Abstract: A set of buffers is made available on a system-wide basis to provide capabilities for robust presentation of windows. The buffers can include a frame buffer, a system off-screen buffer and a compositing buffer. Windows are analyzed to determine and implement the most time-and memory-efficient use of the available buffers to properly display the intended result. In some situations, applications write directly to the frame buffer. Clipping can be used to prevent occluded portions of windows from being displayed. In other situations, some data is written to the off-screen buffer and/or to one or more application buffers, and the compositing buffer is used to perform compositing operations. Thus, a device can provide a wide range of display capabilities, including window compositing, while minimizing costs in terms of memory usage and processing power. Such advantages are of particular use in mobile devices and other systems having limited resources.

  • Patent number: 8384384
Abstract: A computer readable storage medium has stored thereon a computer program having instructions, which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to apply a first plurality of RF pulses during a first TR interval of an MR pulse sequence to generate a first echo train. A plurality of echoes of the first echo train are split into a plurality of echo pairs. Within a first echo space, first and second gradient pulses are applied during respective first and second generated echoes, and respective first and second sets of k-space data are acquired that correspond to respective first and second blades of k-space data in the same k-space. The first and second blades have orientations at different angles from one another. The instructions further cause the computer to reconstruct an image based on the acquired first and second sets of k-space data.

  • Patent number: 8383513
Abstract: Rapid thermal annealing methods and systems for annealing patterned substrates with minimal pattern effect on substrate temperature non-uniformity are provided. The rapid thermal annealing system includes a front-side heating source and a backside heating source. The backside heating source of the rapid thermal annealing system supplies a dominant amount of heat to bring the substrate temperature to the peak annealing temperature. The front-side heating source contributes to heat up the environment near the front-side of the substrate to a temperature lower than about 100° C. to about 200° C. less than the peak annealing temperature. The asymmetric front-side and backside heating for rapid thermal annealing reduce or eliminate pattern effect and improve WIW and WID device performance uniformity.
