Abstract: A heat sink for cooling at least one electronic device package includes a lower lid, an upper lid, and a body formed of at least one thermally conductive material. The body is disposed between and sealed to the lower and upper lids and defines a tapered inlet distribution chamber configured to receive a coolant, C-shaped inlet manifolds configured to receive the coolant from the tapered inlet distribution chamber, inverted C-shaped outlet manifolds configured to exhaust the coolant. The inlet and outlet manifolds are interleaved and disposed in a circular arrangement. The outlet manifolds extend around only a portion of the body and terminate adjacent to opposing sides of the inlet chamber. The body further defines a tapered outlet chamber configured to receive the coolant from the outlet manifolds, where the inlet manifolds extend around only a portion of the body and terminate adjacent to opposing sides of the tapered outlet chamber.

Abstract: Evacuation slide systems having extendable portions are detailed. The extendable portions of slides may be inflated separately from the main portions and actuated manually if desired. Consequently, attitude changes of, for example, an aircraft subsequent to inflation of the main portion of a slide would not necessarily defeat its use, as inflation of the extendable portion could still occur.

Abstract: Designing a computer program includes accessing invariant domain rules and displaying variable business rules. One or more business rules are selected in response to a user selection and are customized. The business rules are associated with a procedure, and the domain rules are associated with the procedure. A model representing the procedure is displayed, and a code corresponding to the procedure is generated to design a computer program.
Abstract: A compressively-encoding-resultant video signal resulting from compressively encoding a video signal, a first compressively-encoding-resultant audio signal resulting from compressively encoding a first audio signal having a synchronized relation with the video signal, a reference clock information signal relating to synchronization between the compressively-encoding-resultant video signal and the first compressively-encoding-resultant audio signal, and an indication timing information signal designating an indication timing of the video signal are multiplexed to get an AV multiplexing-resultant signal. A second audio signal is compressively encoded to get a second compressively-encoding-resultant audio signal. A sound-production-timing information signal is added to the second compressively-encoding-resultant audio signal to get a substitution playback audio signal.
Abstract: The invention provides a process for the production of ethylene oxide and, optionally, ethylene glycol. A base is added at various positions downstream of the quench section of an ethylene oxide absorber. This mitigates corrosion in the ethylene oxide and ethylene glycol plant.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for improving data warehouse performance are disclosed. An example method to transform a first database into a second database includes analyzing a structure of the first database, generating a hierarchical file path structure reflecting the structure of the first database, and associating a mapping file with a fact table, the mapping file stored in a first hierarchical directory file path of the hierarchical file path structure. The example method also includes copying data from the first database to form the second database, the copied data being accessible from the second database via the mapping file and the fact table, receiving a request to access data in the first database, using the mapping file and the fact table to retrieve the data responsive to the analysis instruction from the second database, and outputting the retrieved data.
Abstract: A cyanoacrylate-based adhesive composition is disclosed. The cyanoacrylate-based adhesive composition includes a cyanoacrylate monomer, and a bleachable dye including a Michler's hydrol cation or derivatized Michler's hydrol cation, paired with a non-nucleophilic anion that provides a stable color to the cyanoacrylate-based adhesive.

Abstract: System and method for implementing wafer acceptance test (“WAT”) advanced process control (“APC”) are described. In one embodiment, the method comprises performing an inter-metal (“IM”) WAT on a plurality of processed wafer lots; selecting a subset of the plurality of wafer lots using a lot sampling process; and selecting a sample wafer group using the wafer lot subset, wherein IM WAT is performed on wafers of the sample wafer group to obtain IM WAT data therefore. The method further comprises estimating final WAT data for all wafers in the processed wafer lots from IM WAT data obtained for the sample wafer group and providing the estimated final WAT data to a WAT APC process for controlling processes.
Abstract: A system and method for eliminating image artifacts caused by electromagnetic interference (EMI) on a digital x-ray detector. The system and method includes a digital x-ray detector panel having an array of pixels in rows and columns, with a plurality of data lines coupled to the columns of pixels and a plurality of scan lines coupled to the rows of pixels. The system and method uses certain photodiodes in a row of the pixel array for measuring EMI with corresponding scan line and FETs deactivated and eliminating the EMI and image artifacts with the remaining photodiodes in the row with corresponding scan line and FETs activated.

Abstract: A telephone system connects a user to a plurality of telephone call participants in a sequence of calls referred to as a “call chain.” Features of each call in the chain, such as the telephone number(s) of the participant(s) to be called and the scheduled duration of the call, may be stored in a computer-readable record. A first telephone call is established between the user and the first participant in the call chain. The first telephone call may be terminated automatically by the system upon expiration of a predetermined maximum duration or when the first participant hangs up the telephone. Upon termination of the first telephone call, a second telephone call is established between the user and the second participant in the call chain. A third and subsequent telephone calls may be established between the user and the subsequent participants in the call chain in the same manner.

Abstract: A toner manufactured by a method including the steps of dissolving or dispersing toner components comprising a binder resin, a colorant, and an encapsulated plasticizer to prepare an oily toner components liquid, and emulsifying or dispersing the oily toner components liquid in an aqueous medium to prepare the toner.
Abstract: A powered air cleaning system has a flow path extending through the system from an inlet to an outlet. A motor-driven fan is located along the flow path to draw particulate debris laden air into the inlet and rotate it about an axis to form a rotating flow that stratifies the debris laden air with the heaviest particles in the outermost orbits of the rotating flow. An ejector port ejects particulate debris laden air from the stratified rotating flow in the system. At least one de-swirl component located within the rotating flow aerodynamically redirects clean air from the innermost orbits of the stratified rotating flow toward the outlet to provide a positive airflow pressure out of the outlet. The system has a variable speed fan motor and an integrated controller for adjusting the speed of the motor and thereby the flow rate of clean air through the outlet of the system. The controller receives a signal that is a function of airflow requirements of a device supplied with clean air by the system.
Abstract: An up-tight surface covering system for attaching a facing of a panel member to a support structure comprises an adjustable hanger bracket for attaching a grid member to the support structure and a clip for attaching the panel member to the grid member. The adjustable hanger bracket comprises an arm rotatably attached to a support. The arm includes a first section extending substantially parallel to the support and a second section extending substantially perpendicular to the support. The second section has at least one slot for receiving a mechanical fixing member. The clip comprises a main body portion having an attachment member extending from a substantial center thereof. The main body portion has engagement members extending from opposing sides of the main body portion and substantially perpendicular thereto. The engaging members have abutment members extending from side surfaces thereof substantially perpendicular to the main body portion and the engaging members.
