Abstract: Thermal barrier coating (TBC) and a method of depositing a TBC having a modulated columnar microstructure that exhibits increased impact resistance. The TBC is deposited to have a columnar microstructure in which columns extend from a substrate surface. The columns having inner regions contacting the surface, outer regions near an outermost surface of the TBC, and interior regions therebetween. The inner regions of the columns are substantially normal to the substrate surface and at least one of the interior and outer regions of the columns are nonaligned with its respective inner regions, so that the columns of the columnar microstructure are continuous but modulated between the inner and outer regions to reduce tensile stresses within the columns resulting from particle impact.

Abstract: It is intended to provide a process for producing unstable amorphous benzimidazole compounds having a proton pump inhibitor function, and stable solid preparations for medicinal use containing these compounds which are produced by blending such an amorphous benzimidazole compound with a nontoxic base such as a basic inorganic salt, forming an intermediate coating layer on the layer containing the active ingredient and further forming an enteric coating layer or a release-controlling coating layer.
Abstract: An adjustment mechanism for use with a chair. The adjustment mechanism is for use on a chair that has a base assembly with an extending pedestal, a seat, a chassis, and a back. Specifically the adjustment mechanism is for use on a chair that utilizes a J-back bar that couples the chassis to the back. The J-back adjustment mechanism allows the angle of the J-back bar and thus, the back to be changed throughout a range of motion. The J-back adjustment assembly includes a casing and an adjustment portion, wherein rotation of the adjustment portion changes the inclination of the J-back bar and, thus, the back with respect to the seat.
Abstract: An apparatus for magnetic resonance imaging is described having a casing with an inner bore which in some embodiments is substantially frustoconical shape for receiving a subject. The apparatus contains devices disposed in the casing to create a uniform field within an inner bore. The apparatus employs dual access since the inner bore has a first and second end at the outer edge of the casing for which the part of the subject's body would travel so as to be imaged. Further, in some embodiments, the apparatus provides one or more recesses for inserting at least one gradient coils into position about an inner bore. The MRI system induces resonance in selected dipoles in an examination region created along an inner bore of a casing housing in a magnetic resonance imaging system such that the selected dipoles generate magnetic resonance signals to create an image representation of the part of the subject's body.
Abstract: This invention is directed to an absorbent article, preferably a diaper or training pants, having a backsheet, an absorbent core and a topsheet, provided with at least one opening adapted to receive fecal material, comprising also a genital coversheet, which in use covers the genitals, and which is positioned in, under or above part of the opening, such that a void space can be created between the genital coversheet and the absorbent core and such that a void space is present between the topsheet and the absorbent core.
Abstract: A turbine bucket includes a platform interfacing between an airfoil and a shank. The platform is provided with a plurality of cavities covered by impingement cooling plates along the platform underside. Purge air supplied in the gaps between adjacent buckets flows through holes in the impingement plates to impingement cool opposite wall portions of the platform. The cooling air in the cavities is transmitted through film cooling holes in the platform to form a thin film of insulating air along the surface of the platform exposed to the hot gas in the hot gas path.
Abstract: A method comprises forming a BARC layer on a substrate, treating the BARC layer to make its surface hydrophilic, forming a photoresist layer on the treated BARC layer, exposing the photoresist layer to a predetermined pattern, and developing the photoresist layer to form patterned photoresist.
Abstract: A wood-type golf club head (40) having a major body (50), a striking plate insert (55) and a minor body (60) is disclosed herein. The major body (50) is composed of a metal material and has a front wall section (72), a return section (74), a sole section (76), a ribbon section (78) and a ledge portion (80). The minor body (50) is preferably composed of a low density material and has a crown section (62) and a ribbon section (64). The striking plate insert (55) is composed of a metal material. The minor body (60) is preferably attached by a liquid adhesive to the ledge section (80) of the major body (60). At least one stiffening member (122) disposed on the interior surface of the sole section (76) of the major body (50) increases the sound of the golf club head (40) during impact with a golf ball.
Abstract: Methods of manufacturing microelectronic device including, in one embodiment, forming a gate electrode over a substrate having an insulating layer interposing a bulk semiconductor portion and a thin semiconductor layer, and removing at least a portion of the thin semiconductor and insulating layers, thereby defining a pedestal comprising a portion of the thin semiconductor and insulating layers. Source/drain stressors are then formed contacting the source/drain extensions on opposing sides of the pedestal and substantially spanning a height no less than the pedestal.
Abstract: A mower comprising a mower housing with an open bottom for mowing underneath the housing. A mower blade is positioned with the housing and is driven by a motor mounted to the housing. A linkage assembly attaches a prime mover to the housing and supports the mower relative to the prime mover wherein the linkage assembly provides vertical and rotational movement of the housing about an axis along a path of travel of the mower.

Abstract: An airbed having a built-in pump. The pump is removably received within a receptacle. When the pump is placed in the receptacle, an outlet port for the pump is in fluid communication with a valve. The valve is operated via a solenoid. In an embodiment, the valve is opened while the pump is operating to inflate the airbed. The valve is also opened to deflate the airbed. In accordance with an embodiment, the pump utilizes a dual fan configuration, having two sets of fan blades on opposite sides of a disc. Air inlets are provided for the fan housing of the pump on both the top and the bottom so that each set of blades may draw air into the pump.
Abstract: A method for multi identifier log in of instant messaging system, setting corresponding relation between more than one user identifiers; after receiving log in request, instant messaging system allows the user to log in according to the corresponding relation among the said user identifiers. The present can support multi kinds of user identifier to log in simultaneously, which solves the problem that instant messaging system cannot support multi kinds of user identifier to log in simultaneously, making it more convenient for the user to log in an instant messaging system, and interesting quality of an instant messaging system is increased. The present invention is of stronger practicability.
