Abstract: Examples include methods, systems, and articles for localizing a vehicle relative to an imaged surface configuration. Localizing the vehicle may include selecting pairs of features in an image acquired from a sensor supported by the vehicle having corresponding identified pairs of features in a reference representation of the surface configuration. A three-dimensional geoarc may be generated based on an angle of view of the sensor and the selected feature pair in the reference representation. In some examples, a selected portion of the geoarc disposed a known distance of the vehicle away from the portion of the physical surface configuration may be determined. Locations where the selected portions of geoarcs for selected feature pairs overlap may be identified. In some examples, the reference representation may be defined in a three-dimensional space of volume elements (voxels), and voxels that are included in the highest number of geoarcs may be determined.

Abstract: Provided are coating compositions for, and methods for reducing weight loss and improving the shelf life of, post-harvest edible and non-edible plant matter. In particular, the compositions may include a hydrocolloid polymer, an edible wax, a fatty acid, an edible alkaline component essentially free of morpholine and/or ammonia, and water. The edible alkaline component allows formation of a homogeneous emulsion without the need for any additional emulsifier. The methods include applying the compositions to the surface of plant matter, and more specifically to plant matter having a natural skin, shell or tunic.

Abstract: A floor panel connection system for attaching a floor panel to an aircraft airframe is disclosed. The connection system includes a vertical load resisting coupling device and a shear load resisting coupling device to connect the floor panel to the airframe and resist forces applied to the panel. The vertical load resisting coupling device is configured to resist forces perpendicular to a top facial plane of the floor panel, without significantly resisting lateral forces. The shear load resisting coupling device is configured to resist forces parallel to the top facial plane of the floor panel, without significantly resisting vertical forces.

Such cationic polymers may be utilized as structure directing agents to form mesoporous zeolites. The mesoporous zeolites may include micropores as well as mesopores, and may have a surface area of greater than 350 m2/g and a pore volume of greater than 0.3 cm3/g. Also described are core/shell zeolites, where at least the shell portion includes a mesoporous zeolite material.

Abstract: A battery pack for an electric vehicle may include a plurality of battery cells arranged into one or more rows. Each of the plurality of battery cells may include a first terminal and a second terminal, and the plurality of battery cells may include a subset of battery cells with the first terminal oriented in a same direction in the battery pack. The battery pack may also include a busbar configured to conduct electrical energy to and from at least the subset of battery cells. The busbar may include a plurality of cutouts positioned over the first terminals of the subset of battery cells, and a plurality of tabs that springably contact the respective first terminal. A method of building a battery pack with a busbar connection is also presented.

Solution to the Problem As a result of intensive research, the present inventors have found that a compound represented by general formula (I), a stereoisomer, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof inhibits DNA gyrase GyrB subunit and/or topoisomerase IV ParE subunit possesses excellent solubility and a safety profile for use in humans for the treatment of bacterial infectious diseases.

Abstract: An annular nuclear fuel pellet in combination with an inserted discrete neutron absorber. The pellet/absorber may be compatible with existing or future nuclear fuel assembly designs. The concept involves the use of nuclear fuel (e.g., uranium dioxide or uranium silicide) formed into annular fuel pellets which can then have a discrete absorber material inserted into the center of the pin. Preferably, the discrete absorber is a non-parasitic absorber. The resulting pellet/absorber can then be stacked into a fuel rod which is arranged in a nuclear fuel assembly. Dimensioning of the annular pellet and absorber and selection of the absorber material and density can allow the concept to be tailored for various nuclear fuel applications.
