Patent number: 9548799Abstract: Dynamic, untethered array nodes are frequency, phase, and time aligned, and used to focus their transmissions of the same data coherently on a target, using time reversal. Alignment may be achieved separately for the radio frequency (RF) carriers and the data envelopes. Carrier alignment may be by phase conjugation. The data is distributed across the nodes. Data distribution and/or alignment may be performed by a Master node of the array. The nodes capture a sounding signal from the target, in the same time window. Each node converts the captured sounding signal to baseband, for example, using in-phase/quadrature downconversion. Each node stores the baseband samples of the sounding pulse. Each node convolves time-reversed samples of the sounding signal with the data, and upconverts the convolved data to radio frequency. The nodes emit their respective convolved and upconverted data so that the emissions focus coherently at the target.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2014Date of Patent: January 17, 2017Assignee: ZIV A CORP.Inventors: Mark Hsu, David Smith, Jeremy Rode, Anis Husain

Patent number: 7146335Abstract: An online system for trading securities is disclosed. The system may include an investor computer, a brokerage computer, and a third party computer, all coupled together by a network. The third party computer responds to investment information requests from the investor computer by providing HTML documents having the desired investment information and a link. The link is a URL address of order software on the brokerage computer, and it includes an indicator of a specific security associated with the investment information. Examples of such securities include stocks, a mutual funds, and options. The link is preferably implemented as a button icon labeled “Trade Now”. When the third party computer is an investment research service, the existence of the Trade Now icon greatly expedites the investor's ordering process by directly retrieving an order form with appropriate fields pre-populated. Patent number: 6519570Abstract: A system and a method of conducting a time-auction among queuing customers is described. A bid is received from one of the queuing customers and compared with the prices being offered by the other customers waiting in line. If the bid is higher than at least one of the prices, the bidding customer is advanced in line ahead of the customer offering the lower price. The system and method provide a mechanism for customers willing to pay more to advance in the queue and to move ahead of those not willing to pay as much. At the same time, the system and method allow vendors such as service providers, for whose good or services customers are willing to wait in line, to maximize the price charged for their services at any given moment.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2000Date of Patent: February 11, 2003Assignee: Keen.COM, Inc. Patent number: 6124111Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for measuring the amount/activity of the enzyme catalase before or in connection with bleaching of cellulose fibers preferably in a pulp suspension for the purpose of providing a better and more uniform product quality and a correct dosing of the actual bleaching substance during the bleaching. According to the invention a measurement sample is derived from a predetermined volume of the pulp suspension after or during the bleaching. Further, a determined amount of bleaching substance is added to the sample, which is agitated so that the bleaching substance is decomposed and oxygen gas is generated, which oxygen gas pushes out a certain sample volume from the measurement sample, which sample volume is measured after a determined time and is directly or indirectly converted, e.g. via a simple algorithm, to a value representing the actual amount of catalase.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1999Date of Patent: September 26, 2000Assignee: BTG Kalle Inventing AB, A Corp.Inventors: Gerdt Fladda, Stig Norder, Bertil Olsson

Patent number: 5900575Abstract: The invention relates to a bottom plate member (6) which is designed and made for initially tightening a chamber in which a high gas pressure is generated, for example the propellant charge chamber (4) in an ammuniton round for a recoilless weapon system or in pipes or containers within the process industry. The plate member (6) is breakable and opens for the gases to exit when the gas pressure within the chamber exceeds a certain level. The plate member has a through hole (12) in the center which gives an effective starting point for the cracking process as well as fractural impressions (10) to control the cracking process so that the plate is divided into a number of well defined parts of flaps (11) which are connected to each other. The plate member (6) further comprises a number of straight edges (16), which number corresponds to the number of flaps (11), against which edges the base of the flaps are arranged to be folded when the plate member opens due to the gas pressure.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1998Date of Patent: May 4, 1999Assignee: Simbal AB, A Corp. of SwedenInventors: Ingemar Johansson, Tomas Lager, Lief Linderholt, Christer Sundell

Patent number: 5533094Abstract: A method of and system for paging mobile stations within a cellular telecommunication system wherein the allocation of control channel paging capacity is optimized. Each page request for a mobile station received by the system is classified into a predesignated group based upon the characteristics of the request, such as the degree of certainty with which the location of the mobile is known and the origin of the page request. In accordance with the predesignated group to which the page request is assigned, each page request is assigned a paging extent designation to be associated with one or more page attempts and representing the geographic area within the system to which each page attempt is to be broadcast. A paging priority is then assigned to each page attempt based upon the previously assigned group characteristics and paging patterns. Each page attempt is executed within the system according to its designated priority.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1992Date of Patent: July 2, 1996Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson, A Corp. of SwedenInventor: K.
