  • Publication number: 20150185898
Abstract: Method and apparatus for determining that a pressure field is applied on a structure. A plurality of acoustic waves are generated within the structure using at least one wave generator and a plurality of measurements of the acoustic waves is taken using at least one wave sensor. A pressure field applied to a surface of the structure is determined by processing at least two of the plurality of measurements. The wave generator and the wave sensor may be piezoelectric elements, which may alternate between acting as the wave generator and the wave sensor. Processing the measurements may comprise obtaining a differential measurement value and comparing the value to a threshold. Determining that the pressure field is applied may comprise processing the measurements using a model based on acoustic wave propagation or experimental results. • Patent number: 9011562
Abstract: A method for producing a synthesis-gas product gas and a vapor stream includes catalytic steam reforming a hydrocarbonaceous feedstock in a steam reformer. The hot synthesis-gas product gas stream is cooled in a heat exchanger to form a cooled synthesis-gas product gas stream and a first partial vapor stream, which is supplied to the product vapor stream. The reforming furnace is operated so as to burn a burner feedstock in burners, cool a hot flue gas stream from the burners in a heat exchanger to form a cooled flue gas stream and a second partial vapor stream, and separate the cooled flue gas stream into a waste gas stream and a flue gas recirculation stream. The flow of the recirculated flue gas is increased with decreasing flow of the synthesis-gas product gas to obtain an approximately constant product vapor stream by increasing the second partial vapor stream.

  • Patent number: 9012140
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a nucleic acid target-dependent adapter linked to a nucleic acid sequence. The adapter comprises linked together a biosensor having a specific sequence complementary to a target sequence of a substrate, the biosensor improving the specificity of the nucleic acid sequence for the substrate, and a blocker stem sequence complementary to a portion of the nucleic acid sequence. In absence of the target sequence of the substrate, the blocker stem sequence forms an intramolecular stem with the nucleic acid sequence linked thereto, preventing exposition of the sequence of the nucleic acid sequence, thus locking the nucleic acid sequence so linked to the adapter in an inactive conformation, and in presence of the target sequence, the blocker stem sequence dissociating from the nucleic acid sequence, thus exposing the nucleic acid sequence linked to the adapter in an active conformation.
