  • Publication number: 20140352490
Abstract: Disclosed is a modular barrier system to protect a machine user from injury, the barrier structure having a plurality of modular units that can be manipulated individually to provide variable configurations of the barrier structure, that can be used with different pieces of machinery or for different applications, without removal or changing of the barrier structure in its entirety. The modular units comprise a slide unit and a latch mechanism to lock each individual modular unit in place, by way of ratcheting teeth. The barrier system may be positioned on a rail system that provides for lateral movement of the modular units while maintaining its attachment to the rail by a rail lock mechanism on the modular unit.

  • Patent number: 8826504
Abstract: A disc brake piston retractor tool is provided for retracting at least one piston of a caliper assembly. The tool includes first and second pressure plates having respective externally threaded first and second studs. A coupler is internally threaded to threadably receive the first stud and the second stud from opposite open ends of the coupler. Selective rotation of the coupler results in simultaneous lateral movement of the first and second pressure plates towards and away from the coupler between retracted and extended positions. One of the pressure plates is engageable against the at least one piston to retract the piston, and the other of the pressure plates is supported against an interior surface of the caliper assembly opposite the one piston, or is engagable against at least one other piston in the caliper assembly opposite the one piston to retract the other piston.

  • Patent number: 8826780
Abstract: A tool adapted to be used with a filter cap having an engagement structure includes a body having an upper end and a side wall extending from the upper end and terminating in a lower open end. The side wall is formed with a plurality of notches extending upwardly from the lower open end and adapted to receive the engagement structure of the filter cap. The notches define a set of spaced apart engaging members which form a driven head receiving structure adapted to matingly and non-rotatably receive the engagement structure of the filter cap. The body is engagably disposed over the engagement structure, and the body together with the filter cap is rotated in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction.

  • Publication number: 20130133198
Abstract: An adjustable holding tool is provided for servicing a fan clutch assembly removably attached to a shaft of a water pump having a pulley associated therewith. A holding tool is comprised of a first plate holder including a first adjustment leg joined to a first attachment leg having a first longitudinal axis and a first attachment structure. A second plate holder includes a second adjustment leg joined to a second attachment leg having a second longitudinal axis and second attachment structure. The first and second plate holders are slidably connected together to provide a continuous variable spacing between the first and second adjustment legs while maintaining a parallel relationship between the first and second longitudinal axes.

  • Patent number: 8347474
Abstract: A pulling tool includes a elongated main support body having a plurality of retention holes formed on opposite sides thereof. An actuator stem member is threadably mounted in the support body. A pair of jaw members is slidably mounted on opposite side of the support body. The jaw members have extended hook portions adapted to engage an outer periphery of a wheel element removably mounted on a stationary wheel mounting member. A pair of tubular holders is slidably mounted on opposite sides of the support body, and retained against outer faces of the jaw members to prevent lateral outward movement of the jaw members on the support body and to orient the jaw members substantially perpendicularly to the support body.

  • Patent number: 4533475
Abstract: A particle precipitator in the form of a cylindrical tank accepts raw water through a tangentially and horizontally mounted pipe. The precipitator is divided into three separate chambers, a lower, middle, and upper chamber separated by two baffles. The raw water enters and circulates into the lower chamber and because the lower chamber is of much larger volume than the inlet pipe, the velocity of the raw water is substantially reduced. During the raw water's residence time in the lower chamber, many of the larger particles are permitted to precipitate out to the bottom of the precipitator tank. The water then flows through a center opening of the lower baffle to the middle chamber and around the outer edges of the upper baffle to the upper chamber. By the time the water reaches the upper chamber, most of the larger particles have had a chance to precipitate out and the water in this upper chamber is substantially cleaner than it was when it entered the precipitator tank.
