Patent number: 11530083Abstract: A racking protection device that includes a housing and vibration monitor. The vibration monitor is arranged to record the vibration transmitting through a racking component. The housing includes an alert for alerting a user when the racking requires inspection for damage to impacts. The vibration monitor records the frequency and time of each impact. The vibration monitor includes a memory that counts and records the number of minor impacts. The vibration monitor determines a minor impact when the peak frequency is between a minimum and maximum pre-set level for a predetermined time period. When a predeteiiiiined number of minor impacts is exceeded, the alert is arranged to alert the user to inspect the racking for damage. When the frequency exceeds the maximum pre-set level for a predetermined time period the vibration monitor determines that a severe impact has occurred and the alert is arranged to alert the user to inspect the racking for damage.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2017Date of Patent: December 20, 2022Assignee: A-FAX LIMITEDInventor: Luke Smith

Patent number: 10458181Abstract: There is provided a barrier and a method of opening and closing a barrier. The barrier including a first arm moveable about a first support, a second arm moveable about a second support and at least one coupling. The first and second supports are spaced across an opening and the barrier is arranged between an open and closed position, such that in the closed position, the arms are arranged in combination to traverse the opening. The barrier is further arranged in a locked position, such that the coupling is slidably coupled to the first and second arms. The barrier improves the safety of loading bay areas in order to allow the efficient transfer of goods on freight transportation vehicles.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2015Date of Patent: October 29, 2019Assignee: A-FAX LIMITEDInventor: Luke Smith

Patent number: 10294048Abstract: A dock bumper is provided. The dock bumper includes a housing holding a plurality of rollers arranged in an array. The plurality of rollers are arranged to absorb impact from a reversing vehicle. Upon impact, outer surfaces of the rollers are arranged to rotate relative to the frame. Consequently, scrubbing between the vehicle and dock bumper is reduced as are excess forces acting on fixings between the frame and wall. Also, a surface area at each contact location is increased as a cushioning effect is provided by rotation of the roller, thereby prolonging the operation life of the rollers. Furthermore, in one form, the dock bumper is modularized so that only worn or damaged rollers need be replaced at one time.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2014Date of Patent: May 21, 2019Assignee: A-FAX LIMITEDInventor: Luke Smith

Patent number: 9986831Abstract: The protector is generally elongate and includes a mouth that is able to open to accommodate the structure. The mouth is biased towards a closed position so that the mouth grips the structure to hold it in place. The mouth is provided by a pair of opposed jaws and an inner plate provided to act as a stop for the mouth. A bumper is provided that extends spaced from the inner plate. The protector further includes at least one angled linear web that extends between the inner plate and bumper at a front of the protector. Advantageously, it has been found that as the bumper crushes, the angled linear web and the side connection of the bumper combine to cause the bumper to spread outwardly and around the structure thereby acting to deflect the force of the impact around the structure. Such deflection reduces the damage to the structure.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2014Date of Patent: June 5, 2018Assignee: A-FAX LIMITEDInventor: Luke Smith

Publication number: 20170261024Abstract: A pin having a tool engagement portion and a resiliently deformable cover arranged over the tool engagement portion. The resiliently deformable cover is operable to deform from a first position to a second position to allow for the engagement of the tool engagement portion with a tool. The tool engagement portion is substantially concealed when the cover is in the first position, reducing the opportunities for dirt ingress. A tool may be used to deform the cover and allow the tool to engage with the tool engagement portion such that rotation of the tool causes co-rotation of the pin.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2015Publication date: September 14, 2017Applicant: A-FAX LIMITEDInventor: Luke SMITH

Publication number: 20170009484Abstract: A barrier having first and second spaced posts interconnected by a rail, wherein the rail and posts are not inserted within one another. In the exemplary embodiments, the parts are hollow in at least the region of the intended interconnection. Each post is connected to the rail by a coupling. Each coupling includes a connector that extends inside the hollow region of the post and rail. The post includes an aperture wherein when assembled the connector extends through the aperture. The connecter includes an abutment that abuts an inside of the post to prevent movement of the connector through the aperture. The connector is moveable further into one of the hollow sections of the post or rail to withdraw the connector from the other of the post or rail. This allows the rail to be disconnected from the post without increasing the distance between the two spaced posts.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2015Publication date: January 12, 2017Applicant: A-FAX LIMITEDInventors: Luke SMITH, Dean COWAN
