Patent number: 6232673Abstract: A wind-power plant with a rotor. The rotor's hub is accommodated in a roller bearing. The roller bearing is mounted on a support and connected to a planetary gear. The planetary gear comprises two stages, specifically an input stage and an output stage. The planetary gear's output shaft is coupled by way of a clutch to a generator. The roller bearing (3) has an inner ring (7) that is attached to and can be detached from both the hub (1) and the rotating part of the planetary gear. The generator (11) has a housing that is combined with and can be removed from the planetary gear to constitute a drive-train module. The module rests on the rotor support (4) and can be dynamically separated from the overall plant.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2000Date of Patent: May 15, 2001Assignee: A. Friedr. Patent number: 6183317Abstract: There is indicated a ship drive consisting of a drive engine and a propeller shaft which is directly connected therewith and provided with a propeller and the thrust of which is taken up by a thrust bearing. In addition, there is provided an auxiliary drive consisting of an electric engine which is to operate selectably as a generator or a motor and which is connected with a transmission by way of a clutch. In that case a gearwheel of the transmission surrounds the propeller intermediate shaft and is connected therewith by way of a flexible coupling. A play-free, releasable and mechanically positive connection is arranged between transmission and the drive engine, which has a flange at the drive side, on a thrust shaft and is combined with an auxiliary thrust bearing, which has forward and reverse pressure blocks and which is activatable in the case of auxiliary or emergency operation of the ship.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 1999Date of Patent: February 6, 2001Assignee: A. Patent number: 6033271Abstract: A ship propulsion system in which the ship's propeller is connected with its propeller shaft directly to a drive mechanism. A thrust bearing in the drive mechanism receives directly the thrust of the propeller shaft. An auxiliary drive with an electrical machine is operable selectively as a motor or as a generator, and a coupling is provided between the electrical machine and transmission linkage in the auxiliary drive. A gear on the transmission surrounds the propeller shaft, and a flexible coupling connects the transmission to the propeller shaft. Mounted on a separate section of the propeller shaft between the transmission and the drive mechanism, is a shiftable coupling which is free of play and transmits torque from the drive mechanism to the propeller shaft as well as the thrust of the propeller shaft. An auxiliary thrust bearing is connected to the shiftable coupling and is actuated when the ship is in auxiliary or emergency operation during which the propeller shaft has a reduced thrust.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 1998Date of Patent: March 7, 2000Assignee: A.
