  • Patent number: 10919333
Abstract: A creasing device includes a frame with a substantially horizontal support surface for supporting an article to be creased; a movable tool; and a stationary tool, the latter comprising a stationary member and at least one displaceable member whose height relative to the stationary member can be adjusted. A first actuator moves the movable tool toward the stationary tool and interacts with opposite faces of the article, and a second actuator translates the displaceable member between a first end position in which interacts with the movable tool and a second end position in which it cannot interact with the movable tool. Guide means associated with the stationary tool guides the displaceable member between the first end position and the second end position. The guide means are have a curvilinear path contained in a plane substantially perpendicular to the support surface.

  • Patent number: 10744809
Abstract: A multifunction rotary tool for milling and roughening backs of blocks of pages to be bound by a bookbinding machine comprises a cylindrical base defining a rotation axis, a first annular member adapted to be secured to the cylindrical base and having an outer edge, a crown of milling blades formed in the first annular member proximate to its outer edge and defining a cutting plane perpendicular to the rotation axis, and a plurality of roughening inserts securable to the cylindrical base along a circular area radially offset from the crown of milling blades. Each insert comprises a cylindrical body with a hook-shaped end portion defined by an upper edge with a sharp tip designed to penetrate the block back in a perpendicular cut. The end portion comprises a recessed surface adapted to tear and push downwards the cut material without removing it.

  • Publication number: 20140102906
Abstract: This invention relates generally to an apparatus and method for electroplating selected portions of a connector part, such as a pin or a socket. The selective plating apparatus of the present invention is capable of continuously depositing plating solution on precisely the right contact surface of the connector part irrespective of its shape and center of gravity. According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the selective plating apparatus is capable of plating either side of the connector part, such as a pin or a socket, allowing plating of different type of metals on each side of the machined or stamped parts. The parts are handled automatically with minimum physical stress resulting in more consistent and reliable plating deposits.

  • Patent number: 4719852
Abstract: An improved aircraft trash compactor having an elongated inner chamber which is separated into front and rear chamber sections by means of a movable door or wall disposed transversely across the width of the chamber. The movable door or wall supports the rear panel of the trash container in the front chamber section during the compaction of trash therein and may be moved to an out-of-the-way position to allow the filled trash container to be moved into the rear chamber section for storage or disposal. The filled trash container in the rear chamber section supports the rear panel of a trash container in the front chamber section during the compaction of trash therein.

  • Patent number: 4711390
Abstract: This invention is directed to an improved collapsible box for trash compactors and particularly aircraft trash compactors. The box is constructed from an integrally formed elongated main section having rectangularly shaped front, rear, and bottom panels and a pair of opposing side panels which are secured to continuous flanges hingedly connected to the vertical edges of the front and rear panels and to the horizontal edges of the bottom panel. At least one side panel is provided with a free-standing edge which is adapted to be seated in a guide or securing means or overhang within the compactor chamber which fixes the position of the side panel.A continuous medial fold line is provided at the middle of the front, rear, and bottom panels to facilitate the folding of the box into a collapsed state for storing. In the preferred embodiment, the front and rear panels are each provided with a pair of fold lines which extend from the lower edges of the panels to common points on the medial fold lines.

  • Patent number: 4620479
Abstract: A trash compactor and collapsible box for use therewith to handle waste material generated during flight of passenger-carrying aircraft. The trash compactor includes a housing formed with front and rear box chambers to receive first and second collapsible trash-receiving boxes. A front door is provided for the housing having a trash-receiving chute in its upper portion. The first box is initially disposed in the front box chamber. When it is filled, the front door is opened and the first box is pushed to the rear box chamber. The second box is then positioned within the front box chamber to receive trash, and the front door is shut. The collapsible boxes have a front wall disposed at the same elevation as the lower edge of the chute, while the tops of the side and rear walls are at a higher elevation than the top of the front wall to permit the boxes to receive a maximum amount of trash for their size. The bottom portion of the wall is of liquid-tight construction.
