Abstract: A process for filtering interferograms obtained from SAR images, acquired on the same area by synthetic aperture radars, comprising the following steps: a) acquiring a series of N radar images (Al . . . AN) by means of a SAR sensor on a same area with acquisition geometries such as to allow re-sampling of the data on a common grid; b) after re-sampling on a common grid, selecting a pixel from the common grid; c) calculating the coherence matrix of the selected pixel, that is estimating the complex coherence values for each possible pair of available images; d) maximizing, with respect of the source vector ?, here an unknown element, the functional: (formula) being R the operator which extracts the real part of a complex number, ?nm the modulus of the element (n,m) of the coherence matrix, k a positive real number, ?nm the phase of the element (n,m) of the coherence matrix, ?n and ?m the elements n and m of the unknown vector ?.

  • Patent number: 8587471
Abstract: A process includes acquiring radar images on the same area, calculating a vector of n amplitude or intensity values relating to a sample pixel in the n images available, identifying the vector as a sample vector, and defining an estimation window for the sample pixel for identifying a set of pixels around the sample pixel. Additionally, calculating vectors of N amplitude or intensity values for each pixel contained in the estimation window, comparing each vector with the sample vector, identifying pixels associated with the vectors that have passed a statistical test and identifying pixels associated with the vectors that have not passed the statistical test, eliminating the pixels contained in the estimation window that are not connected to the sample pixel, and identifying the set of pixels that are statistically homogeneous with the sample pixel.

  • Publication number: 20110126595
Abstract: A forehearth (1) or working-end for glass furnace of the type including one or more modules or sections (2), each one having: —an understructure (3) in which a vat (4) is defined into which the molten glass flows; —a superstructure (5) including a cooling air duct (13) and a pair of lateral fume ducts (20), communicating with the vat area (4) into which the molten glass flows, characterised in that, next to an outlet opening (17) of the duct (13), a “Venturi block” (22) is provided, into which both the cooling air from the duct (13) and the fumes from the fume ducts (20) flow, shaped in such a way that the cooling exit air causes the fumes to be extracted from the fume ducts (20). The forehearth and the fume extraction procedure enable the thermal homogeneity of the glass to be improved while reducing the use of refractory material, the formation of cracks in the superstructure and costs.

  • Patent number: 5242564
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for removing gas-liquid mixtures from electrolysis cells divided into compartments, particularly membrane type cells, without producing pressure fluctuations, wherein each compartment of said cells is characterized in that it is provided with two different ducts for removing the mixture after separation into liquid-rich and gas-rich phases, each duct being connected with its first end to the upper part of the cell, while the other end of the gas-rich phase duct (4) is inserted into the liquid-rich phase duct (3) so that liquid is present only in the portion of the duct comprised between the connection to the cell and the point of inlet of the gas-rich phase. In the subsequent portion the flow consists in the gas-liquid mixture which is forwarded to a gas-disengaging vessel.

  • Patent number: 5076898
Abstract: An electrode comprising a gas permeable and liquid permeable coating bonded to an ion exchange membrane, said coating comprising low overvoltage electrocatalytic particles, more electroconductive electrolyte resistant particles and an electrolyte resistant binder compatible with the membrane to bond the particles thereto, the electrode coating being provided with a plurality of pores with a pore size of at least 0.1 microns.Effective porosity is imparted to the layer of particles by means of a sacrificial, pore-forming agent and by leaching out such agent after the particles have been bonded together and the layer formed is in its desired thickness, preferably after it has been deposited upon the membrane.Surface resistivity of the layer is reduced and the layer is effectively reinforced by incorporating electroconductive particles which often have a higher overvoltage than the electrocatalytic particles and also have high electroconductivity.
