  • Patent number: 5756185
Abstract: A gluable fixing element for holding structural or functional components to essentially flat surfaces of carrier parts. It consists of a bonding portion for producing an adhesive bond with the surface of the carrier part and at least one further holding portion for producing a positive or non-positive connection with the component. The bonding portion has a bonding surface which is provided with a curable and/or crosslinkable, reactive hot-melt adhesive that when dry is wear-resistant and non-adhesive at temperatures up to 80.degree. C. but that can be reactivated within a very short time when heated by thermal or other energy to a temperature sufficient to melt the adhesive to produce a durable adhesive bond between the element and the carrier parts.

  • Patent number: 5653550
Abstract: A retaining device for fastening an appliance insert in a base panel, such as a sink in a kitchen work surface. The device has a retaining clamp that can be fixed in an opening in the work surface, and a retaining web connected to the sink that can be introduced into the retaining clamp from above and anchored in place. The retaining clamp includes an elongated retaining leg and two elastically resilient clamping legs integrally formed, in a U-shaped manner, on the ends of the retaining leg. The retaining leg can be firmly fixed in a predetermined position on the side edges of the opening while the clamping legs have latching teeth oriented towards the retaining leg and into which the retaining web can be latched, by a latching web directed towards the latching teeth, after being pressed into the retaining clamp.

  • Patent number: 5624319
Abstract: A process for production of a two-part cage nut from a single metal plate. The cage nut includes a nut slidably carried on a holding part. The nut includes a base plate having a threaded sleeve. The holding part includes a holding plate having an aperture and a pair of side walls which are bent over the edge of the base plate of the nut. The process production includes stamping the holding part and nut from a single metal plate. The nut is joined to the base plate by a narrow connecting web. The base plate is then bent about the connecting web and positioned over the holding plate between the side walls. The side walls are bent inwardly until they extend over the side edges of the base plate of the nut. The nut is separated from the holding plate by shearing off the now bent over portion of the connecting web. The nut is permitted to slide between boundary tabs on a guide path between the side walls.

  • Patent number: 5471920
Abstract: An assembly device for binding bunched cables with a plastic fastener having a serrated tension band and a separate locking clasp including a housing for holding a wound roll of the tension band, an exit opening in one end of said housing through which the tension band can be fed, a first guide channel in the housing having an entrance end and an exit end and positioned for feeding the tension band from its roll to the exit opening and a second guide channel located in the housing above the first guide channel for feeding an endless chain of the locking clasps interconnected together by frangible webs to position the locking clasps one at a time in the exit opening so that the tension band can be passed out through the opening in the clasp.

  • Patent number: 5460248
Abstract: A brake device for damping a translatory motion having a bearing housing and a brake disk both made of a resilient, hard elastic plastic material. The brake disk is supported for rotation in the bearing housing and adapted for rotation in response to a translatory motion, the brake disk having an outer conically shaped friction surface and the bearing housing a correspondingly configured inner conically shaped friction. The surfaces are held together when the disk is supported in the housing to generate frictional resistance between them as the disk rotates in the housing in response to a translatory motion and thereby dampen the motion.

  • Patent number: 5443343
Abstract: A metal dowel for anchorage in a wall panel, said dowel being made from a folded blank of sheet metal and comprising a pair of flat leg members folded over at one end to lie flat against each other, the legs tapering toward the folded end to form a pointed end to the dowel and being held together at said folded end by a breakable web formed by the fold between said legs. The leg members are fixedly connected together at the opposite end to form a head end to the dowel and a threaded hole is formed out of and located between the legs adjacent the head end of the dowel with a funnel-shaped recess formed out of and located between said legs being axially aligned with said threaded hole and located between the threaded hole and the pointed end. After insertion of the dowel pointed end first into a panel, threading of a threaded member into the threaded hole with the tip thereof entering into said recess, breaks the web and forces the legs apart to anchor the dowel in the panel.

  • Patent number: 5339500
Abstract: A holding clamp for connecting together two sheets of material, at least one of which is susceptible to expansion. The clamp has a thread leg having a thread portion for receipt of a threaded member and a pair of clamping legs integrally joined at one end to form a C-shaped structure adapted to receive therebetween a sheet of expandable material, the thread leg being connected to an opposite end of one of the legs of the clamp. Each clamping leg has a through hole in line with the thread portion of the thread leg through which can pass the threaded member and an annular flange around each through hole that extends inwardly from the inner surface of each clamping leg that faces the other clamping leg and toward said other leg, the flanges abutting each other when the two clamping legs are brought together by the threaded member to keep the two legs apart a distance greater than the thickness of the expandable sheet.
