Patent number: 7101076Abstract: An extruder is provided having a transfer region that, in an extruder sleeve, is provided with ribs between which extend flow channels. Disposed opposite the sleeve flow channels are flow channels formed in the extruder screw, and the sum of the cross-sections of the flow channels, when viewed in the direction of extrusion, is shifted toward the sleeve and then toward the screw. The ribs (20) of the extrusion sleeve (12) at the ridges facing the screw (14) have a width that is at least one third, especially at least one half, and preferably approximately 80 to 100% of the width of the flow channels (22). Provided between the ridges of the ribs (20) of the extruder sleeve (12) and of the screw (14) is a gap (24) of more than 0.5%, in particular of about one percent of the diameter of the screw (14).Type: GrantFiled: July 3, 2003Date of Patent: September 5, 2006Assignee: A-Z Formen-und Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Olaf Skibba

Patent number: 6632307Abstract: A tread band applicator device is provided for building a tread band on a tire carcass and includes a press applicator head for applying a tread band raw material mass onto the tire carcass as the tire carcass is rotated. The press applicator head is movable along the direction of the axis of rotation of the tire carcass in correspondence with the curvature of the outer surface of the tire carcass and is operable to apply the tread band raw material in a width which is less than the width of the tire carcass. The press applicator head is a component of an extruder which is mounted for movement about a plurality of axes.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2001Date of Patent: October 14, 2003Assignee: A-Z Formen- und Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Florian Fischer

Patent number: 6623598Abstract: An apparatus for applying tread material onto a tire is provided and applies uncured tread material to the carcass of a tire having a tread surface and a flank. The apparatus includes an extruder for extruding a selected one of a rubber and a synthetic material mixture and a first applicator device orientable toward the tread surface of the carcass. The apparatus also includes a second applicator device disposed adjacent the first applicator device and orientable toward the flank of the carcass. The apparatus further includes an extrusion nozzle extending between the first applicator device and the second applicator device for passage therethrough of the mixture extruded by the extruder.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2001Date of Patent: September 23, 2003Assignee: A-Z Formen- und Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Florian Fischer

Publication number: 20020185211Abstract: An apparatus is provided for cutting to length a tread band which is to be subsequently built up onto a tire carcass. The apparatus includes a transport device for transporting an extent of tread band material from which a tread band is to be cut, and a cutting device for cutting to length a tread band from the extent of tread band material. The apparatus also includes a picture display device for registering and displaying simultaneously a picture of the front end of a tread band after the front end has been cut by the cutting device and a picture of an area of the tread band which lies shortly before and extends to the location at which the back end of the tread band is to be cut by the cutting device.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2002Publication date: December 12, 2002Applicant: A-Z Formen- und Maschinenbau GmbHInventor: Kay Saamer
