Abstract: A cooking appliance includes a base, and lower and upper cooking plates pivotally mounted to the base such as to permit: (a) the upper cooking plate to be pivotted to an open position with respect to the lower cooking plate for introducing and removal of food articles between the cooking surfaces of the two cooking plates; (b) the upper cooking then to be pivotted to a closed position with respect to the lower cooking plate for contacting the food article between the cooking surfaces of the two cooking plates; and (c) both plates to be pivotted to any desired angular position with respect to the base for drawing fluids from the food article while being cooked between the cooking surfaces of the two cooking plates.

Abstract: A food processor appliance includes various types of adaptors for permitting both liquid and solid food ingredients to be separately or concurrently fed into the appliance for processing therein, or for adapting the appliance particularly for processing long, slim food articles, such as carrots, cucumbers, etc. Another described feature is particularly useful for juicer-type appliances, and includes a base for supporting a juice-receiver receptacle, which base includes a retractable tray for catching drippings when the receptacle is not in place.

Abstract: A juice extractor appliance for extracting juice from food articles, includes: a housing having an inlet feed tube for feeding food articles into the appliance, and an outlet for outletting juice extract from the food articles; a pusher rod for manually pushing the food articles through the inlet feed tube; and a cutter disc rotatable about a central disc axis and including a plurality of cutting edges projecting from one side of the disc facing the inlet feed tube for cutting the food articles into a pulp saturated with juice when the food article is pushed against the cutter disc by the pusher rod.

Abstract: Automatic toaster apparatus as described including a displacing mechanism for displacing at least one of the heater plates, preferably both heater plates, towards and away from the food article in the toaster in order to accelerate the toasting thereof. According to another feature, particularly useful in apparatus for toasting bagels or other types of rolls having relatively hard crust layers on their outer surfaces, the toaster includes cutter blades for cutting through the roll before the roll is fed into the toasting unit. In the described embodiment, the cutter includes a pair of spaced cutter blades for cutting away the crust layer on the opposite faces of the roll before the roll is fed into the toaster unit.

Abstract: A juice extractor appliance, and a cutter disc therefor, the cutter disc being eccentrically mountable with respect to a feed tube for feeding food articles and being formed, on its surface facing feed tube, with a first group of blades in a circular region centrally of the cutter disc, and with a second group of blades in an outer peripheral region of the cutter disc around the central region. The first group of blades consist of two blades located on opposite sides of the central circular region and diametrically aligned with each other and with the center of the central circular region. The second group of blades consist of a plurality of lines of blades in the outer peripheral region extending tangentially to the center circular region.

Abstract: A shredding appliance for shredding vegetables or other food articles, includes a housing having an inlet for introducing the food articles to be shredded, and an outlet for outletting the shredded food articles; a rotatable shredding member of hollow construction; an electrical motor for rotating said hollow shredding member; and a transmission coupling said electrical motor to said hollow shredding member. The hollow shredding member has an outer surface aligned with said inlet and formed with shredding elements bordering openings for shredding the inletted food articles and for feeding the shredded food articles into the interior of the hollow shredding member. One end of the hollow shredding member is open and is aligned with the outlet for outletting the shreded food article.
