    Abstract: The present invention provides compositions and methods for preconditioning, providing neuroprotection to, and/or enhancing the neural recovery of an individual. The compositions include pomegranate extract, blueberry extract, curcumin and/or magnesium citrate, and Omega 3 fatty acids. The compositions can be used in beverages or food products. In preferred embodiments, the compositions are a component of an aqueous beverage, i.e. an energy, sports, or soft drink.
