The level of power provided to the heating means controls a flow rate of water through the water delivery pipe to the water dispenser. A method of controlling the flow of water is such a brewer is also provided.

    Abstract: A standalone coffee bean grinder and an associated coffee brewer. The coffee bean grinder is operable to receive a signal including water level information from the coffee brewer and to control the grinding mechanism thereof in dependence of the thus received water level information. The amount of water contained in a water container of the separate coffee brewer as indicated by the received water level information can thus determine the amount of coffee beans to be ground by the coffee bean grinder. This may allow for more accurate and repeatable brew quality and, also, the coffee drinking experience may be improved for certain users.
