  • Patent number: 4893921
Abstract: On the marginal part of a perforated cinematographic film, are recorded coded information or "addresses" associated respectively with the various images of the film, in the form of dots disposed in a matrix of longitudinal rows and of transverse columns. Before each matrix of dots corresponding to a group of coded information or "address" of an image, a transverse framing pattern constituted by a single combination of dots, is recorded. Then, during the recording, in the different transverse columns, of the different successive characters constituting the same "address", a longitudinal framing pattern is recorded, along a longitudinal row bordering the matrix, this longitudinal framing pattern being constituted by an alternation, along said row, of dots and absences of dots aligned respectively with the various transverse columns of the matrix.

  • Patent number: 4744651
Abstract: A device for guiding a film in a cine camera comprises a channelled plate pierced with a window for filming and along the rear face of which is displaced the film. A presser member is disposed behind the film, opposite the filming window in the channelled plate, and means are provided for applying the presser member under pressure against the film and the channelled plate, when the film is stopped during filming, and for eliminating this pressure during the descending movement of the film. The means controlling the pressure exerted by the presser member on the film comprise a periodic magnetic field generator producing, during the descending movement of the film, a magnetic film acting on the presser member, made of ferromagnetic material, to eliminate the pressure of the presser member on the film during the descent thereof.

  • Patent number: 4659198
Abstract: A system of inscription on the marginal part of a perforated cinematographic film, of coded information and for reading this information, comprises, for inscription, an assembly of a plurality of light sources adjacent one another, disposed transversely opposite the marginal part of the cinematographic film. A write-in device selectively controls at each instant, the lighting of certain light sources, from among all of them, for the inscription on the film, in coded form, of a plurality of dots aligned transversely in a column. The system also comprises, for reading the coded information inscribed on the film, an assembly of photo-sensitive elements, adjacent one another, extending transversely opposite the marginal part of the film bearing the coded information. Means and provided for recognizing and identifying the combinations of dots inscribed on the film and corresponding to the various characters of information.

  • Patent number: 4264165
Abstract: A film exposing equipment such as motion picture cameras and still cameras is equipped with photometric devices measuring the quantity of light falling upon the film to be exposed. The display device showing the user the measurement result comprises a succession of light emitting diodes adjacent to each other, determining the measuring scale, these diodes being powered and hence lit up at all times with the exception of the single diode among them, which, unlit, constitutes the mark giving the measurement result. The succession of light emitting diodes comprises at predetermined intervals, specific diodes different from the other diodes by their dimensions and/or colors, constituting specific marks on the measurement scale.

  • Patent number: 4245897
Abstract: A moving picture camera with interchangeable film magazine comprises in each magazine, a take-up roll on which is wound the exposed film, and an electric motor rotating this roll.A measuring device is provided for measuring the speed of rotation of the take-up roll and for delivering a first signal representing this speed of rotation. A computer circuit receiving at its inputs said signal and a signal representing the image cadence selected and another signal representing the desired tension for the film, delivers at its ouptut a signal representing the value of the intensity of the electric current supplied to the motor, so that the required mechanical power, in other words the useful electric power supplied by this motor, is constant, for a selected image cadence and a desired film tension.

  • Patent number: 4235534
Abstract: A device for driving the claw shaft of a motion picture camera, comprises an electric motor coupled to the claw shaft itself connected to said claw by a mechanism of the crank-connecting rod system type, for converting the movement of rotation of the electric motor into a movement of reciprocating translation.Means are provided for modulating the speed of rotation of the claw shaft as a function of the angle of rotation thereof with respect to a reference position, so that the speed of the claw at the moment of its engagement in a perforation of the film is as low as possible and that this speed then increases, during the descent of the film, according to a law such that the acceleration communicated to the film causes only a minimum stress exerted on said latter.
