Patent number: 6948383Abstract: For simpler manufacture of a rotation angle sensor and to utilize as much of its angle expansion as possible, the partial stator elements are in the shape of a partial ring split into a large partial stator element (22.1) and a small partial stator element (22.2) with tangentially arranged spacing openings (4, 5) located between them. The large partial stator element (22.1) covers a range of greater than 180° and the small partial stator element a range of less than 180° of a circular arc. The large and small stator elements (22.1, 22.2) are at least partially molded into one of the parts made of a magnetically non-conducting material. A magnet element consists of two magnetically bipolar partial magnet segment elements that are essentially of the same length and cover 90° or more of a circular arc.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2003Date of Patent: September 27, 2005Assignee: AB Eletronik GmbHInventor: Klaus Wilczek

Patent number: 6518753Abstract: To make it possible for a rotation angle sensor to be manufactured and assembled more easily and more accurately, the part components of a stator element (21) made of a ferritic material are held in a sintered stator body, made by a sintering technique, by at least one holding element in a holding recess of a base element made of a non-magnetizable material. A magnetic holding device (26, 27) is a holding element made by a metal injection molding (MIM) technique with an at least partly formed magnetic isolation zone and at least one recess. An annular magnetic element (24) is attached inside the MIM holding device by means of at least one slit-shaped recess and at least one compatible linking element, and positioned at a given angle &agr; in relation to a gap, between the sintered stator bodies.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2000Date of Patent: February 11, 2003Assignee: AB Eletronik GmbHInventors: Peter Apel, Marion Hauschopp

Patent number: 6498481Abstract: In order to simplify the installation of an angle-of-rotation sensor and to prevent destruction or function impairment caused by temperature variations, a stamped lead assembly (25) is at least partially embedded into a shaped holding bracket (24) forming a holder unit (23) which holds a stator unit (2), a sensor element (4, 5) and an output unit (26, 51). An expansion unit (30) is positioned on the lead lines of the stamped lead assembly (25) and at least partially positioned in the shaped holding bracket (24). The expansion unit (30) consists of lead lines exposed through a window of the shaped holding bracket (24). The window is limited by at least one shaped holder strip. At least one expansion notch is incorporated into the lead lines.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2001Date of Patent: December 24, 2002Assignee: AB Eletronik GmbHInventor: Peter Apel

Patent number: 6246968Abstract: In order to enable frequent and easy adjustment of a physical quantity transformed by a sensor into starting values or curves, the following method is applied: a) the modifying unit keeps adjustment data on a temporary memory (55) through the output pin (OUT), and a working unit (54) gives at the output pin (OUT) the starting value and curves as modified; b) once the starting values and curves have found their adjustment position, the adjustment data are stored by the modifying unit (52) in a permanent memory (53).Type: GrantFiled: July 17, 1998Date of Patent: June 12, 2001Assignee: AB Eletronik GmbHInventors: Klaus Wilczek, Volker Topp

Patent number: 6201389Abstract: In order to improve the measurement possibilities with regard to a rotating shaft, including the whole angle area (0 to 360°), a rotation angle sensor is mounted that is provided with a radial-bipolar ring-shaped magnetic element (3), three air gaps (5, 6, 7, 8) displaced by an equal angle (&phgr;) being connected with said shaft, and with a stator element (4) of a magnetoconductive material, while a Hall integrated circuit element (1, 2) is inserted in at least two adjacent air gaps (5, 6, 7, 8). The two Hall integrated circuit elements (1, 2) can be connected to an evaluation unit (9) which records a voltage curve of the measured circuit for each circuit element (1, 2), assigns each flow voltage measure to a position angle on the Hall integrated circuit voltage curves, calculates from the position angles assigned to the flow voltage values the actual position angle and gives it as the start signal (A1, A2).Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1998Date of Patent: March 13, 2001Assignee: AB Eletronik GmbHInventors: Peter Apel, Klaus Wilczek
